    Amazing!! Only video I could find on internet that's exactly replicating my problem. In my case, issue started ONLY after I changed the rortor and the pads. Any reason why would it happen on new parts?? I would rule out the possibility of hub going bad since this occurred only after I installed new rotors and pads. Thanks in advance!

    This EXACT sound just started abruptly yesterday ('13 CRV). I was feathering the brakes while going 40 mph and hear this knocking sound. More pressure on the brakes or no brakes- silent. At a very slow speed, it's actually a double creak sound (not knocking) creak-creak ------ creak-creak ------- creak-creak. Talked to a friend who thought for sure it was a bushing and I thought he was right until I saw this video. But why so abruptly? I know what pulsing rotors FEEL like when feathering brakes at high speed, but I only hear this.- can't feel it. Thanks so much.

    Wow! Talk about the worst case scenario actually happening. But looking at it in a positive light, the car now has a new story of restoration adventure. It's nothing that cannot be overcome. Painful, yes, on many levels, but a fixable issue. And when the glass is all done, it'll be time to move on to the next part of the project. Whenever I wash my Mondial, I make sure to be very gentle when working anywhere near the rear glass, just being super paranoid. Probably also unobtainium. Looking forward to your next installment!

    Hey I broke my windshield when I went to take the trim off from around it. But in my defense, the guy I hired to come remove it after it was broken, broke it some more after he told me it probably wouldn't have come out in one piece anyway. Then I found a shop to reinstall both that a little independent shop used to use for doing all the local vintage cars. And.....they used the wrong sealer around the windshield after I specifically told them what to use. But it didn't leak and they didn't break the new $1,000 glass so I considered it a win. Oh and I'm going on two years now I've had my GranTurismo apart to redo the F1 pump and motor. I got frustrated and then something keeps coming up like taking cares of my elderly dad who fell a couple weeks ago and broke himself up. So, one of these days we'll both be done!!

    Went through this hell about a year ago and the short answer is you need to get hold of OEM glass, seals and mouldings to stand any chance of achieving a factory fit condition. Use glass branded St Gobain or Pilkington, all the other stuff you can forget. Front screen top and bottom mouldings are unobtainable, and if the originals were yanked off and bent taking them off as mine were, all that's available now are a different section. Many people give up and fit rubber seals on the front screen which can never look right. Persevere to source OEM and try to use someone whose done it before. It's a 2 man job - one guy on his own will struggle to fit the glass and mouldings correctly before the sealer starts to cure.

  • @LouTrottier
    @LouTrottierАй бұрын

    Rear glass is not made any longer. Used only. Front there are options. And yes I’m trying to save all the OEM stuff.

    The Ferrari used a tradtional butyl rubber sealant that remains flexible - ie. it doesn't cure like urethane sealant that's used on 'today's' vehicles - so 'curing time' is not an issue during installation.
