Great video but can you put up the recipe please so that we can make it
Is this soup also called as the smart soup?
looks tasty
This is Malaysian Peranakan recipe. The garlic is grounded whole and has never been bitter, the brinjals are not skinned to keep it's shape. It's only skinned when eaten steamed. The eyes of the fish are enjoyed by many. But I agree, it's not cooked enough. Coconut milk is added. The taste is not like Indian curry fish. It is milder, with less spices and preferred by the Peranakan community.
The fish is cooked sufficiently but I also agree to your point that in some recipes, the fish is cooked longer. I prefer mine cooked just right instead of having cooked longer - individual preference but I'm no Peranakan, so maybe I should listen to you and try it next time.... :D
How big is your slow cooker?
Mine is a 3L one 😊
Haii..i wnt asking..perweek how many time eat this soup?today i cook this soup follow your ingredient
There is no limit as far as I know but usually Chinese households have this quite frequently, even once a week also good. And during flu season or cold season, this is very suitable
The background music is very distracting and spoils an otherwise good informative video.
Is it cook? You toast in the pan not even 1 minute. Anyways i follow your recipe but i will cook a bit longe
I didn't cook it thoroughly coz the plant can be eaten raw. Also cooking it will kill all the nutrition in the plant. Thanks for watching my video!
Thanks for the educational video, it’s enjoyable to watch, and I learned a lot during the process about the benefit of the each ingredients. Thanks :)) All the best to your health.
Can the sugar be substituted with honey?
You can but I'm not familiar with the ratios 😅 I'll try it nxt time 😁
is there any alternative to cornstarch, since cornstarch is one of the most unhealthy and toxic ingredients? Any healthy alternative?
Wow 😳 first time i see this
Thanks for sharing this recipe..i try it now
That's not Japanese eggplant.
Hi! What makes you say that they aren't?
Join khal forum , the world's only cooking social media.🙂😉😊
Yum I love eggplant thank you for this easy recipe I will make this tomorrow 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Taste good
Good
You could have used a very small strainer or sieve to put spoonfuls of the cornstarch over the eggplants... coats them more evenly
Thanks for the tip!
Super love traditional chinise soup..
Love it ! I'll cook it . Please let me know the nutrition is now in the soup or in the meat since I just want to drink the soup only : ) Thank you for sharing your recipe !
The nutrients would be in the soup. The flavour from the meat would have gone into the soup as well. Usually we do not eat the ingredients in the soup.

I like your channel . Can you please let me know where did you get the stew pot? Thank you!
It isn't a stew lot Jenny, it's a slow cooker, or a crock pot. You can easily find these in any appliances store and is great for making soups and stews. Well worth the investment!
Hi, new subscriber here. Are all the herbs used available in Chinese store? I am base here in london.
I've not been in a Chinese store in London, but I did a simple search in Google and found that there are Chinese Medicine stores there. You might want to find a Chinese herbal store instead of Chinese grocer?
@@WanderingWallyCooks thank you😊
I am here for all your soup recipes 🙌🏼
Mine turned out too salty..
Sorry to hear that, I recommend you taste the sauce mixture before you use it so you can adjust it to suit your taste....
Thanks for sharing 😊
Nice. Thank you for this.
Thank you so much for sharing this soup 🍲
Thank you for your recipe. Our oil got absorbed quickly by the eggplant. Did you add extra oil? What kind of oil is it?
Sorry for the late reply, after u salted the eggplant, usually some liquids are released and this is one method to prevent oil absorption. The other method is to coat it lightly with corn starch before frying
I used peanut oil.... 😊
Egg Plant is the most difficult dish to cook and taste great. Many people didn't get right.
Couldn't agree more....
Very good very good
I loved this as a kid. Delicious. We are Vietnamese but a Chinese friend of my mom introduced it to us. It didn't have the black beans and some of the other ingredients. But it was Def the black herbal piece packaged in Asian grocery stores and the pork.
It could be black dates? Thanks for the comment!
well done po, new subscriber
thanks for sharing your recipe, I love this my friend
Thanks!
Thank you so much, yummy so good food and healthy 👍
Makes my mouth water 💦 and my tummy grumble 😅 (despite the fact that I had my dinner not too long ago.) Magnificent job, there 👑- keep it up and stay connected.❣️
Thank you 😋
Music is too noisy....😖
Really? Or turned up the volume too loud? 😃
Then turn down your volume. Lol. Isn’t this what ppl do when something is too loud?
I enjoyed your video and this music is great! What is this recording? It goes so nicely with this video. I also appreciate that there’s no talk and plenty of information in the description. Excellent job overall.
@@pyuspyxidis4325 thanks much appreciated!

Wow I feel healthier already just watching you cook this 😀 By the way, what brand hand moisturizer do you use? I’m asking for a friend.
If you keep drinking my Chinese soups, you don’t need hand moisturisers 😜😜
@@WanderingWallyCooks okay bro, I will tell my friend. Also do you have a healthy soup to make someone younger, slimmer and more handsome? I am asking for another friend 👍
@@WallyCooksEverything its called Water, drink 8 glasses a day at least, flushes toxins, rehydrates, curbs hunger and appetite 😁
🤩I learned some easy cooing here 🙏incredible to watch
Well done Wally 👍
I thought that soup called Bak Kut Teh. Isn't it?
Bak Kut Teh uses different herbs that are more beneficial for energy boosting.
Always like your visuals!
It wouldn’t last 3 months. I’d drink it like tea 😂
Haha…I used this for my paella …damn it was awesome!
Very nice brother!
Thanks man!
Looks good Wally! How much are fresh scallops in your neck of the woods? I'd love to cook more with it but it's super expensive in Thailand.
harvestandcatch.com/collections/prawn-and-squid/products/scallop-扇贝- MYR45 for half a kilo, not cheap either, this was a once in a blue moon dish haha...how much are they there?
@@WanderingWallyCooks If I recall correctly about MYR125. Thailand has high import taxes. It's very, very rare to find scallops here. I only see it in large supermarkets.
@@WallyCooksEverything wow pricey...
Wow yummy!
