    I watched this yesterday as mine arrived and I'm playing around. I think this might have been fixed in the latest camera firmware as I can press record on the camera and it starts recoding on the camera and mic.

    @@RikkyTang Morning :) I ran a test yesterday with the mic connected to the OA4. I was driving round in the van, so not a bike test. However, what I did was to hit record on the camera, and the mic also started recording. When I got back, I loaded all files into Davinci Resolve. In my case, it didn't give audio and video files the same name, but they were sequential, so I tried dragging all of the video, then all of the audio to the time line. They matched up. Then I used the auto sync audio option, and hey presto - the audio recorded by the camera via bluetooth was replaced by the 32 bit float recorded by the mic. As far as I can see from this brief test, for me, turning off the noise reduction was a better option as it is something I can do in post better. I didn't listen to the bluetooth tracks so can't compare. Hoping for some non-raining weather the weekend so I can get out on the bike and test it :)

  • @RikkyTang
    @RikkyTangКүн бұрын

    @MavisFilms thanks for your results! However what i would need to test is, does the internal backup recording on the mic itself keep recording if you stop the camera, turn the camera off (with the mic still recording its own audio track), turn it on again and allow the camera and the mic to reconnect. At the moment, it's at that point where the two devices reconnect that the internal recording on the mic 2 stops.

  • @MavisFilms
    @MavisFilmsКүн бұрын

    @@RikkyTang It was simply a quick run to work so not sure. I did press stop and start on the camera several time, but in all cases the sync audio to video option was checked, meaning the camera started and stopped the mic from recording. I guess the next test would be to see what happens if you leave the mic running and turn the camera on and off. I'm going to try this on my way to work and will report later.

  • @MavisFilms
    @MavisFilms20 сағат бұрын

    @@RikkyTang Simple answer - yes. First, turn off AV sync option in the camera wireless mic settings so the camera doesn't try to control it. Secondly, you need to press record on the mic first, and the camera record second. If you do camera first it doesn't seem to connect. I tested this by turning both devices on, checking they connected, hit record on the mic then record on the camera. I then stopped the recording on the camera and physically turned it off. The mic kept recording. Then I turned the camera on again, allowed reconnection and hit record on the camera. Rinse and repeat. In all, I had the mic recording one track, and had three different video files. When I put the lot into DaVinci, all I had to do was shuffle the video tracks audio waveform to align with the mic audio waveform.

    The vibes aren't too bad for me and I think once flashed to get away from the Euro 5 restrictions the bike will become the machine that BMW wanted to release. At least that what I hope... I loved my 1250R, but after 2.5 years I was missing that tope end kick that this bike delivers and that will make it great fun on track.

    @@RikkyTang one of the things a tune can do is get the power in sooner on the throttle and stop that silly high revving on idle. Dont get me wrong as with most bmw bikes its extremeley capable i rode aroynd the highlands in 22 and rode through hail and rivers of water and it inspired quick riding even in hail. Very planted. But imo bmw should tune it from factory to have quicker throttle also its too heavy as hell . One day i started to chase a 1250rs up holme moss i thought "i will pass this ytactor easily" well i couldnt gain on it at all and thats torque mate. Since getting my tractor i have added a daytona 955i

    Are there any vibes through the bars, foot pegs or through the seat or tank? I ask as I really wanted an S1000R in 2019 so rode one, but had to get off after 15 minutes as the vibes were so bad then rode it straight back to the BMW dealer. Such a shame as I love the look of the S1000R and XR and also the RR. I guess the M series are even more mental. I am a Honda and Triumph rider and the bikes I have are by and large vibe free.

  • @RikkyTang
    @RikkyTang7 күн бұрын

    I had a 2019 S1000R and I didn't find the vibes a big problem. It similar with the XR too - yes you do feel vibes at different revs through the seat, tank, bars and pegs... so far (longest ride so far is only about 80 miles) the vibes aren't annoying or making parts of my go numb! Maybe it's partly because this bike already has 5000 miles on the clock and it nicely bedded in? But I think Hondas and Triumphs are still likely the smoother marques.

  • @alexmorgan3435

    @@RikkyTang Maybe. Thanks for your reply. Such a shame as I love the engine in the S1000R, RR and XR, and looks of the S1000R also the new recent XR but I just couldn't get on with the vibes. I would have thought BMW would have engineered their bikes so vibes would be non existent. Maybe I try one again, but sadly it really put me off first time. I ride a Honda Blackbird, buttery smooth, VFR800 6th gen,no vibes what so ever and a Speed Triple RS also every smooth and vibe free.

    Hi Ricky...Im a big fan of your channel the way you review and give honest feedback.Congrats on new bike they are fantastic the only issue i had with mine was the seat...Now it wasn't that it was uncomfortable it was mainly the seating position to foot pegs i noticed this straight away specially on the longer trips it would cause pain in my hip and it only happened on that bike there isn't much room if any to move around. So after you have owned and ridden it for a while i would really appreciate your view on this matter.. Stonking engine great handling fantastic Quickshifter. The chain can slap a bit on the swing arm but they have fitted a guard there now so that improved.. And like your 1250R i went through numerous screens and found the smallest possible worked out better for me. I am patient and will await your reviews after you've had the bike a while nice one..Enjoy ABR👍👍
