Personally I like when you show us your working out and why you are trying a certain system, and that if that system doesn't work out switch to something else. Do what brings you joy. That's what this hobby is all about.

Life has seasons and what worked for you last year, might not work for you this year. I feel you...I was in the Weeks for years and bc I needed more space to track certain health issues and do memory keeping this year, I decided to try the a6 Hon. I both like it and hate it. I like the square format but the lack of the weekly view and the new sanzen paper is driving me crazy with my fountain pens. I will stick it out until the end of the year bc I just like having everything in 1 book, but I started thinking abt switching planners... in March! This has never happened before.😬 now I'm wondering if I should just get a blank notebook next year or get the Cousin. It occupies my thoughts too often tbh.

What we need changes so often, it's completely normal to flutter between several planners because what worked for us in January might not work for us in July! And if you feel in October, you have to move back, that is absolutely your prerogative! Don't be so hard on yourself. I love your videos!! I change my planning style every 3 weeks - and I let it happen, because confinement is the killer of creativity.

I’m usually a lurker and don’t really comment (which I’m trying to get better about!🙈) but I really wanted to let you know that I enjoy watching your content regardless of what book you’re in - and my favourite is probably seeing you experiment with rings tbh. I think if planners are your hobby then it’s natural to want to hop about and you shouldn’t feel guilty for that. I watch for you and to hear your thought processes and feel inspired by your layouts rather than for a specific brand of book you may be in. I’ve tried to force myself to use Hobonichi for 2 years now as I love their products, but I realised this year that it’s too structured for me. I’ve personally moved back into a TN and found peace there, but I was using rings earlier this year and really loved the freedom of it. Go with your heart!

I started a ring planner mostly because of you and watching your videos. I have done bullet journal and happy planners mostly and I am happy with rings and if I want a side journal I have a cheep one I got from the dollar store to p;ay around in. we have to do what makes us happy I will still watch either way

Planning is so incredibly personal, and it isn't always linear, that's for sure. I used a Hobonichi Cousin for over 2 years, and I thought it would be the end-all for me as far as planners go. I found myself back in a bullet journal this year. In theory, the Cousin should be all I need, but something is missing when I am there. I found it when I went back to my bullet journal, and it simply had the next blank page unlocked so much. I am glad you have decided to do what you need! Plus, it will be great no matter what you choose because your pages are always cute! I will always watch your videos no matter!

I agree with all the "follow your heart" comments - lean into the joy! While rings are not for me, I LOVE viewing your rings content because of how creative and experimental you are in them. It does not feel 'wash, rinse, repeat' at all. You definitely seem happiest there as of late. I was going to suggest the idea of sticking to rings for daily use, then aesthetically "backfilling" a bound system as you felt like it since the tactile play is such a part of the hobby for you. (Maybe the same net result, but a different mindset?) But sounds like you got there by the end of the video. So yes, love this direction.

You’ve been a big inspo for me with your layouts and how you organize your data/thoughts - that being said I think your system is rather solid, just the “house” it belongs in can vary from day to day for your needs. Like how we change what we wear from day to day depending on the weather. I believe your system is consistent, but where it likes to stay is not - AND THAT IS OKAY! Cut yourself some slack, do what you feel is good in the moment, and have fun 🫶🏻

You know what your heart is telling you. Planning and journaling is such a personal preference thing. You don't owe your viewers 30 days of your life if the thing you are doing doesn't bring you joy. Life is too short to waste 30 days in an unnecessary struggle. I enjoy your channel so much that I will watch it no matter what tools you use. Follow your heart to your joy.

Lindsey, I hope you don’t take this the wrong way but as someone who struggles with mental health, your current situation seems like you’re trying to cover something else going on in your life with planners. I really hope you get help and don’t continue to force yourself through making content that you’re obviously not into making. I’ve been your patreon as well and I have seen that area of your social media struggle as well. You stopped working on your shop content and your videos have an anxiety in them i don’t enjoy. I come to these videos for peace and distraction in my chaotic mind and life and I can feel you struggling. I respectfully will stop watching your content. I can’t continue to not address what I am sure other people have noticed in your content. You deserve the space to figure things out and I think it’s pretty obvious you’re not giving that to yourself by forcing content on any social media platform. Sending you love and best wishes from California 💕

I appreciate your support and I’ve been working on my mental wellness (privately) - I like to think I’m in a way better place now than I’ve been in years. But I don’t mean to make anyone anxious through my videos. I do have anxiety around KZread which is part of the reason I haven’t been making videos regularly - but getting back on the horse 😊 Thanks for watching, and your kind words 💕

I agree with this. I stopped watching her content a while ago. This my first time watching again and it's the same thing. Too chaotic and full of consumerism. I feel like you said it's not relaxing anymore. I also feel like she tried to copy Meghan and Kaitlyn grey too much. Even down to her hand movements. I feel like she leaned in too much on the planner hopper and her growth in popularity because of it. Now maybe she feels like she has to do this for content and is stuck. Idk . Just what I've been seeing. Thank you for speaking out. If more people do maybe she will get help.

I’m in thrall of your handwriting. Have you always “skewered” words on the line (I don’t know how else to describe it)? The vertical spacing is gorgeous; you don’t get the same effect when words “sit” on the line.

I started writing “on the line” sometime last year. It helps me center my lettering a bit more, and the overall look a bit neater in my opinion 💕

@@maryw7972 Same. I found Lindsey because of her Weeks layout. Her switch back to rings inspired me to try A6 rings and I found planner peace. As she experiments with other planners, I have stayed with the Filofax and just taken more inspiration from her layouts and adapted them. And along the way found the great community she’s created around her.

My pocket tn for on the go reference my functional calendar and dailies and also a disc planner I go thru many sizes for the big reference and my medical wellness stuff (it’s like how sleepy notes club refers to heavy planning) I am having one heck of a time figuring out what is enough or too much room

I think that it’s also hard because it seems like ring planners are trending right now too. (At least on my feeds) 😅 but do what feels good right away, don’t wait until August. If you’re a rings queen in this season of life then don’t take that from yourself 😇. I’d like to add to that comment you shared too as a subscriber of yours that I like your content for your creativity and how you set up your planners and journals. I couldn’t care less what planner system you use to do that in( respectfully speaking). 😊 I enjoy your thought process and formatting skills.😇 and your handwriting let’s be real! 😄. I recently moved into rings and went back and forth with the archive “satisfaction” too and something that really helped me was telling myself that I won’t have anything to archive if I’m not happy/consistent with the current system. It’s like the chicken or the egg 😂 I much rather have a good system and shotty archive than a shotty system and good archive. I think you should follow your gut! If the challenge is something you think would benefit your future planning then maybe stick it out, if not just go with your gut 💕

Be interested to know if you get a pocket system and, if so, how you get on with it. Like you, I struggle with the portability/handbag issue so my Personal Filofax stays at home. I carry an A6 lined notebook but I've had to put in a list of all future appointments so I know if I'm available to book anything plus I have this week plus the next 3 weeks plans (appts & tasks). It is mostly working but wonder if it could be cleaner/better. Toying with getting a pocket Filo but worried about double updating, what to keep once and what to duplicate.

I was wondering where you went! Welcome back! :D I've also switched back to a Hobonichi Weeks (Shihai Sumire) with a clear cover, and I remember why I stayed in the Weeks for as long as I did. I love its simplicity while still staying functional! It's also slim so it fits easily in my sling bag. And I know what you mean about planner hopping- the adventurous side of me wants to try out a new planner/system (looking at you Take A Note), but being back in the Weeks just feels like home~ For next year, I do intend to switch to the Weeks Mega for the extra pages. I do miss the more creative daily page spreads from my Traveler's Passport, which is probably why I'm itching to try other planners xD TLDR: Welcome back, Lindsey!
