Have a game plan for those days that seem hopeless. Include those very small joys that involve the senses. What is your favorite smell, what to you feels comforting, does a sunset or sunrise give you spiritual inspiration, what sounds or music do you love to hear? Don't judge me but mine are - cinnamon and apples, a fuzzy soft blankie, waking up early (easy because I don't fall asleep easily) to watch a sunset, I love the sound of fog horns (childhood memories). I know I left taste out as I have an issue with impulse control ;-) Another thing that helps me lift those gnarly emotions and negative thoughts is taking a warm shower (wash your hair!), getting into warm clothing and taking a walk. Breathe. I noticed also that your voice became strained when talking about your feelings. Then when you spoke factually about the journals you were back speaking normally. That is because your intellectual part of your brain took over. Remember that when negative thoughts come into your head causing emotions of self doubt. Your smart brain knows you are amazing!

Sorry to hear you've been dealing with anxiety and depression. It has definitely been a tough year for myself and a lot of people I know. I hope this new year brings some well deserved healing for us all ❤

I've been binge watching planning videos since buying my first Filofax late last year and this is by far my favourite so far ❤

Chanhassen Minnesota here! 20 minutes west of Minneapolis . If you are considering the cities and have any questions let me know. We don’t have mountains here but it’s beautifully green and we have tons of lakes and the North Shore. I’m lucky enough to live on a lake and I’m close to both Minneapolis, St. Paul and the airport. We do consistently have more snow in Minnesnowta. My daughter lives in Louisville CO (next to Boulder) and the mountains are beautiful but it’s pretty brown and the housing costs are much higher than Minnesota. If you like the outdoors both are great choices. Colorado is close to so many National Parks if you enjoy those. One thing I noticed in Colorado is the sun is so incredibly hot that it does limit some outdoor activities at cooler temps like 70’s. However it makes pretty cool temps warmer too. Hope Amy of this information is helpful. :)

Feeling depressed and having anxiety suks. I definitely recommend seeing a therapist. I saw one for a while and it helped me tremendously. Hope it gets better. ❤

I joined team rings for my planner (: I should have known it was something I would love. I was always a binder kid, never a notebook kid growing up. But, I enjoy having a journal to look back on and daily pages for accountability, so I keep my journaling in a hobonichi. Congrats on sticking with rings, and I'm excited to see the journey!

I have the exact same Filofax planner. Same color and all. I’ve had it for years. It’s just sitting on the shelf. I had no idea it’s considered vintage.

If you are looking for downsizing, have you considered a6 rings? It’s wider and larger than pocket. Wider than personal and I think journaling in it would be easier than pocket. Enjoy your planning journey this year. I’m finding peace in my personal rings as well.

Too funny... "president and incumbent of the Planner-Hopping Guild" -- to which, I am a firm card-carrying Platinum member! 😁 Does the Kokoyu paper will work in a disc set up (i.e.; MHP)...? And --- Aaagghhh yes... backfilling. 🤥

I will watch whatever you post. I took a lot of your ideas an implemented them in my passport setup. I don’t think I’ll ever be a ring planner, I have nerve damage in my hands and rings and spiral notebooks have never felt nice under certain parts of my hands

What a beautiful and relaxing video. So well done! Can I ask what the issue was with your pilot VP in the extra fine nib initially? Because I got one and it’s I’m going to go as far to say scratchy and dry. I’ve tried a couple of inks but the line width is nowhere near the same as yours. It’s odd.

I think I’ve been lucky to avoid the scratchy nib thing - it’s sort of why I call it a polarizing pen. I have a fine that still write pretty thin and I hear better reviews on it being smoother so maybe that’s worth a try? This was also my first fountain pen so maybe I’m just used to it feeling that way. My ink line has gotten bolder over time I suspect from daily use but not entirely sure on that either 🙈 The 2022 nib incident was dropping it nib first on some concrete 💀 needless to say, it did not survive and needed replaced

I had a very scratchy EF Pilot VP/Decimo nib, too. I replaced it with an F nib and am having a much better time.

I’m actually considering Colorado and Minnesota as well. I miss Alaska (home) but I’m not quite ready to go back. Atlanta has become too overpopulated.
