I bought one of these. Worked perfectly. Tried to use it again shortly after in the same food prep. Would not work at all. Could not get the work bowl, blade and lid to line up. Put the thing away and never touched it. Had something today I needed to blend so I pulled it off the shelf. Worked perfectly. Until I tried to use it again in the same food prep. Could not get the work bowl, blade and lid to line up. Now I have a work bowl full of ingredients in my fridge. Hoping when I try again tomorrow the component parts and the universe will align. Any suggestions welcome.

I have a 15 year old kitchen aid fridge with this extend fresh feature. I have been smelling a fish like l odor for a while now and cleaned the fridge and freezer extensively but the odor is still there. I just discovered the odor is coming from the "extend fresh'" compartment. I closed the door and the smell disappeared. How can I clean the extend fresh compartment?

why isn't the thermal fuse on this servicable? easy for a quick connect? Sometimes the slider is dirty. sometimes its the board. one screw on back 4 or 5 on the side under band top comes off can looksee. worst thing you can do? its already broken. might beable to fix. bypassing thermal fuse does the trick in a pinch. never mix past 1-3.

If the dime does not move, then the beater is too high. If the dime moves around continuously, the beater is too low. If the dime is traveling around the bowl, moving about a quarter to a half an inch with each pass of the beater, that means the beater to bowl clearance is correct.

Our dish washer a Maytag a company that was known for quality has since been bought by Whirlpool. I have had to replace the upper rack adjuster and glides twice in two years. The dish washer is only used by myself and my husband. The repair man has shown me the parts that used to be used for Maytag and the newly replaced parts that are now made in China and totally disintegrate so that the rack falls down. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool for allowing this. I do not want to have to complain but we are retired, on a budget and this has been very costly when we thought we were getting a reliable brand. Because of this we are looking again at purchasing a dish washer that will do a great job and last. How can I believe that KitchenAid will be any better unless we can actually see the parts they are made of? Sorry for this negative note but it is true and we need help deciding what to do next.

I am appliance repair technician. KitchenAid must be joking with this test. Just use regular $10 analog oven thermometer. Put it on the middle shelf. Select your temperature and turn on your oven on Bake or Conventional Bake only. NOT on Broil. Make sure heat elements are working and heating. Let it work at list for an hour or more. Do not open the door . Monitor your thermometer true the door glass with flashlight. Thermometer at first will show lower then actual temperature because it delays a little. But it will catch up. Temperature in oven will fluctuate a lot at the beginning but finally will kind of stabilize when oven will get hot enough. At this point heat elements will cycle on and off less often. (You will hear relay click sound when they are on or off less often.) Now it is a time to find out average oven temperature. Write down thermometer readings every 10 min. Then in the middle between highest and lowest readings will be your average oven temperature. Now compare this to your selected temperature, turn off the oven for a moment and do calibration. (No need to let owen to cool down). Turn it back on for the same temperature and continue the test for another 30 minutes or longer. Do this until your thermometer will show the same (or almost the same) temp as you selected on your oven. If you can't calibrate then replace temperature sensor first. (You may need to pull out oven to to this.) When replacing the sensor, cut out plastic male to female connector and use ceramic wire nuts instead. If this doesn't help then replace control board. You are welcome

I did that for 35 years 2nd cycle is fine. Different ovens hold their heat for longer or shorter times. Depending on door fit and self clean non self clean. if your tech is taking over one hour to test your being over charged on the labour.

If on bottom position it almost hits the door when sliding it out. If roaster on rack, the weight will drop it down and will catch.

I always learned to never mix yeast and salt together in the water. Always dry ingredients including salt first, separately mix yeast and water.

  • @eugenetswong

Yeast, according to a break making machine recipe, should be put in last. I think that bread making machines need time to mix the ingredients before activating the yeast. That being said, according to Vito, it is best to mix yeast, honey, water, and flour, in 1 mixture at the beginning to make poolish, which is a bread mixture to be used to make the crust.

I just bought this Professional 600 and am very anxious for its arrivals. It is replacing a lift bowl KitchenAid that I have had for almost 40 years. The old machine, which I loved and appreciated, in comparison had a much smaller motor at only 300 Watts. I am now making all my own bread and will need the more powerful motor, 575 watts provided with this newer model. Cannot say "new" model because I know it has itself been around for several years. Will be dumping my old, because at its age it is showing some strain and it is time to put it to rest.
