  I like to mark biome chests with torches that spell out an abriviated letter or two to indicate what's what (i.e. H for Hallow, Cr for Crimson, etc.) That way, I can tell on the mini map where to go directly to instead of checking one by one, or hoping I just remember

  Well I know you are very honorable and probably wouldn't resort to this but for the Martian invasion you could throw 1,000 beach balls to meet the projectile limit, rendering the Martians unable to fire lasers at you. This would also mean that you would only be able to hit them with true melee (Horseman's Blade?) but I think this would be feasible. Other than that you could also try maxing out your defense by equipping accessories made using the Flesh Knuckles accessory. Also shimmering a Life Fruit gives you a permanent upgrade to your defense

  with the relics the more waves you complete like other items the odds of the relic dropping increases. don't know why they did it like that but it was probably done just to make it fit with the rest of the drop table
