Some of these instructions are a bit misleading, overall bad, skipped past as if the step is very easy (front fender bolt is insanely difficult to get screwed in without scratching up your fender, rear reflector is about impossible to get the screws in because of there being little to no room for your hands....). Kind of disappointed in the lack of detail with some of this instruction.

This was NOT what was wrong with my wobbly front wheel. It was the actual wheel screw needed to be tightened. Not sure why it would come loose but it did and it took a minute to adjust but its solid again. Phew

I’m 6’2” toll 76-yr old long-term biker enthusiast like the Ride1Up brand ambassador in my local Northern CA area. I just purchased online Portola w/ 10.4Ah battery. And I have a high hopes Portola to be not only the best value lighter foldable step-thru e-bike I got in comparison w/ my previous two I already owned. I tested Portola with Ride1Up local ambassador in advance and it was a love from the first glance. Hopefully Portola will be delivered with added missing before derailleur guard installed already. Once delivered I’ll follow the video instructions and assemble by myself. I watched already the assembly video in advance and here are my experienced e-biker comments for San Diego Ride1Up company to consider. My hopes are that my comments will serve better all of the Portola buyers in the future. 1) The not-adjustable handlebar stem needs to be upgraded ASAP and match all other brands today in the foldable, step-thru market. This will allow especially tall riders like me more posture adjustable options not only the seat height. It’s a big supersize that such a quality-centered company like Ride1Up is not providing with adjustable telescopic handlebar stem like the competition? 2) The major competition in this most popular e-bike step-thru foldable category provide their customers with practically 100% assembled foldable step-thru e-bikes, so Ride1Up should do the same with a very little design effort, right.

its too easy steal the battery. Keep a bookbag if you lock this outside so you can take the battery with you. All Ride1up bikes have this flaw.

I have this vibration/squeak coming from my front hub motor. I think it's a needle bearing, because it only happens with weight on the bike and gets worse with use.

Please i need your help. I own engwe ep 2 pro. I wrote to official support engwe that I have a huge problem with an error 25. I followed the troubleshooting instructions, I tried everything but without success. I disconnected all the connectors twice, there's still error 25 on screen and back light is on. I tried factory reset but without success.(does not allow anything, only power on and off.

Hey, how did you upgrade the controller, I have the macfox mx20. Exact same bike, I had a look and I have a 10 pin motor connector. Everything available is 9 pin.

Straight forward instructions. Unfortunately one of my screws under the seat came with a star pattern (instead of hex) and was tightened by Zeus himself. It took some ingenuity to remove.

why have I watched 12 videos trying to find the best settings for speed and still have no clue? Does anyone actually tell you what the number in the box on the screen means and does ? Mine is on 3 but I swear one time watching a vid here on YT showed me to put that nuber up to 7 or 9 does that have anything to do with speed.?

Yes, but it does not install as per the instructions for the roadster. I had to be creative.

I don’t use the pannier racks on mine; BUT, I needed to install faucet plastic washers to compensate for the length of the screw and bolt that affixes the pannier bracket to the frame; because, the screw and bolt are longer to compensate for the additional width of the pannier brackets. I’m sure you can use regular washers, but I prefer the plastic faucet washers to prevent scratching the frame. I just got this bracket on Friday, 17-May-2024; hence, I will post my video once I find the bag to go on top of the rack. /s/ Alfonso Faustino

@@mungoprus-shearer1624 Yes I does sometimes feel like that. I’m convinced it’s nothing to do with the motor, but maybe a speed controller setting, or maybe the motor wiring is intermittent.

Thats why I went with this one. I want it to still pass for a bike. Too many laws coming and they’re already taking people’s Surrons and other eMoto bikes here in LA. Mostly because of morons who drive all crazy. They dont get that this is designed to sidestep motorcycles rules. If you buy something that looks and performs like a motorcycle, dont be shocked when they make you register and insure it and require an M1 license. I ride motorcycles so I have an M1 but thats not what this is for. People ruin everything so no surprise.
