You don't have to feel weird, thats just speedrunning for you! It's normal for runners to finnish a game when they speedrun in a fraction of time that it took them to beat it for the first time casualy. Heck, my first every playthrough of FFXII back on the Ps2 was over 200 hours and on said save I've never 100%ed the game. Enjoy your casual playthroughs and get curious about the speedrun(s) after, thats how I got about it :)

Does this work only when you get to a certain point in the story or as soon as you get to travel free from Bhujerba to Rabanaste which I think is around before Tomb of Raithwall(also where you will arrive to the Ogir crystal) ?

It "should" work anywhere, with a telport crytal, where you can heal yourself with cure. Hope that helps :)

Could be, but with this Basch Ashe and Penelo joins at lvl 99. If I would get the tippet first, it would mean faster lvl 99 but only vaan. My idea was more minmaxing the leveling. If that makes sense.

I use the Built in Turbo (or Repeat) function from Steam. I change the share button input to another Confirm input with Turbo turned on. This way, I can get a ton of inputs per second by just holding the button. On my 2nd channel Harveys Attic, I have a Tutorial on how to set up turbo!

Hi there! Yeah, It can get a bit confusing. So, there are 3 different releases of FFXII which give them their own Boards. Original on PS2, IZJS which only released in Japan and TZA. The 5-7h category is most likely the Original PS2 run. Since the remaster is drastically differrent from both the Original and IZJS, tza has its own leaderboard. I personally like both versions, but enjoy the PS2 versions more, since you have more freedom with the licenseboard. As to why the time difference: There are multiple factors as to why the time is so much faster. Most of those timesaves can also be applied for IZJS: - faster load times (only TZA) - Speed up function, makes the game up to "4x" faster (this is faster than the izjs speedup) - rebalancing of enemy stats - Introduction to Invisible weapons such as Seitengrat (Seitengrat is mega OP with 224 atk power and a 25% crit chance, and no licenses is needed to equip it too). That around covers the biggest timesaves for the run compared to Ps2. If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask :)

As of 12/22/23 it still works on the switch handheld mode. I been trying to get the hang of it, been trying -23 with no luck. Tried -24 and got it first try then accidently over shot it to -22 on the next one and got it again! Going back for #3.

Hey man! The RNG is working perfectly, I get consecutive cures in a row but when I'm in the 90th percentile and I open a chest in the Cerobi Steppe, it doesn't give the item, even though I'm wearing the diamond armlet-any idea why?

@@Oifik On PS5 you can use a differen RNG manipulation tool in case this one doesn't work. There is a tool specifically made for the PS2 version and PS4 version (even if its played on PS5, it still works with the PS4 manipulation tool). I made a video about that tool in the past on this channel. If you go back a couple of years you'll find it!

Hey, 2023 here, if you are on switch and need confirmation. Yes, this is real, I was hesitant at first but now I'm rolling in all 3 of the invisible items. This actually works for whatever rng roll you want, so any chest, including say making zodiac spear appear if you don't want to steal it. If you want to know which subtraction I used for seitengrat, I used -23. For Gerdarme you can do it without resetting and probably about 2 minutes a shield. For Gerdarme, just cast your cures, look for the first thing with a 0 as the odds, use steps until you are 1 step away from that one. Go into the room, then type in the little number thing, 80+,95+. Same thing use steps until you get to 1 step before, open the chest. I haven't had to do more than 150 steps for Gerdarme yet. The only one I'd say you might have trouble with is Seitengrat but that is only because you and I have different speeds at which we can roll through to the chest so you may encounter a couple extra or fewer rng steps. Not a big deal, just add or drop until you get it down, once you do, you'll get it almost every time. Again, this is straight up real, I was so surprised but it honestly made sense in hindsight because the curelist showed me the values I'd cure for beforehand so clearly there is some design behind the rng.

Honestly... I don't have a computer to do the method with a chart or program... So I have to rely on genuine luck which blows because I've ran back and forth over 200+ times... Back to the bazaar area, back to the dock, to the chest, see if it spawned or is being it's usual dick self... and on my initial count of... Well... Counting (did a few dozen attempts before but didn't count them) it took me 57 tries of going back and forth... I did a second set of counting, stopping for sanity reasons at 110, mind you I was moderately switching between times 4 speed and normal game speed, I'm presently doing another attempt at it right now without counting... But I'm so pissed that the one time the chest did spawn it was flocking rust... Why did they bother putting this in the game if it's just gonna be a harsh waste of time to get? Edit: I should note I'm doing this on the Switch Version of the game, which is running version 1.10.

It's not really meant to be found. The chest is invisible, the spawn rate 1% and it being Seitengrat another 1%. Its nigh i.possible to get for a reason.

How does hitting yourself 102 times move you 1100 positions?

It depends if you combo or not. If you punch yourself once it's 10, if you punch yourself twice (2 different attacks) its 10 + 10. However if you get a combo out of an attack you consume 10 extra per combo. Meaning if you got a 2 hit combo, you consume 10 extra over the 2 punches you already did, if you get a 3 hit combo its 20 extra, if you get a 4hit its 30 extra, and so on and so forth.

This is for extra exp. If Larsa stays alive each character gets 1/4th of exp. If I rid of him, everyone gets 1/3rd of the exp. In short, you get more exp.

The Problem is that this method works BUT it's inresibly inconsistent. I tried to record the video 7 times but those all failed due to unknown reasons. But I got it to work which shows that it does work! But due to the nature of how RNG works on the non Playstation releases of The Zodiac Age, it's not really consistent.

Successfully did it twice in five tries of running to the airship treasure spot, including the fact I got lucky and did it on my first try. Always ran the RNG number down to +23 and was surprised at how well this worked.

This is for extra exp. If Larsa stays alive each character gets 1/4th of exp. If I rid of him, everyone gets 1/3rd of the exp. In short, you get more exp.
The most easy way put reflect to everyone and use darka to youre ally and es so easy

The Problem is that this method works BUT it's inresibly inconsistent. I tried to record the video 7 times but those all failed due to unknown reasons. But I got it to work which shows that it does work! But due to the nature of how RNG works on the non Playstation releases of The Zodiac Age, it's not really consistent.
Ive watched this 4x now and I think i FINALLY wrapped my head around this. No way am i trying this today after spending 2 hours trying the ps4 method l, not knowing its different now, and then basiclaly another hour figuring this out 🤣 ill post an update later whenever i get to this if it work

Successfully did it twice in five tries of running to the airship treasure spot, including the fact I got lucky and did it on my first try. Always ran the RNG number down to +23 and was surprised at how well this worked.
