so basically the goal with the boards is to get the other board and then get gambits and higher spells/weapons and clothing on the old board and abilities and stats boosts on the new board.

If you can remember, i know why the redmages, because its busted early game with dark. Why the other job selections specifically? Like why knoght shikari, and why dual bushi mages?

Not an FF12 runner myself, but the bushi picks seem to be a mix of being able to hop around to useful spots on the licence boards due to the placement of hp/battle/magick lores and the game throwing a bunch of easily-accessible katanas at you without having to go out of your way off the critical path. As for the mage picks - black mage is stupid powerful and gets great AoE damage, while white mage has great utility and much better healing than Red does once Curaja enters the picture. Knight on Basch is self-explanatory, greatswords hit like a truck and you want to use them for damage in the endgame. Shikari mostly seems to be there to enable cross-board skips to get to the desired armour and greatsword licences without having to buy a bunch of useless stuff in between. All three combos are pretty bad from a casual-play optimisation point of view (no adrenaline on your bushi! no robes on your knight!) but this stuff only really matters if you're going out of your way to get good gear and have enough LP to buy a bunch of non-critical licences. Gearing up and grinding for LP both take time, and if you're speedrunning you really don't want to burn time you don't have to!

I use the Built in Turbo (or Repeat) function from Steam. I change the share button input to another Confirm input with Turbo turned on. This way, I can get a ton of inputs per second by just holding the button. On my 2nd channel Harveys Attic, I have a Tutorial on how to set up turbo!
