I was not expecting the inside to be so complex for something so old, impressive!
You have many skills, from chemistry to precision tooling. I wonder if you could recommend books or any other source to learn the art of restoration. Of course, I am aware that you are a grand master by now and such degree of knowledge and expertise can't be found on a book (or many books) but could be a starting point.
Loving restoration, a true artist! I am sure that the device is now in far better condition than it was out from the factory. Luxurious finishes, is a little gem now.
Who else came here from TikTok?

Neat restoration of an amazingly useless invention 😂

🙂👍.
Also today you can sharpen a 3 blades gilettes disposable razor with a good flat utltra-fine sandstone.

Huh. Seems like someone took it apart before. The bottom stones are installed the wrong way around in the beginning (and the before shot). The high edge facing inwards.
Excellent video, well done. What is the thing used to remove the old paint, a sand blaster? Either way, great stuff.
Great small project what a great find !, I did notice however that the sharpening blocks were put back differently to how they were originally is that on purpose? Originally on the top half the blocks slope towards the middle and the bottom half they slope out towards the edge but on reassembly they both slope inwards.
This was probably one of your coolest restorations.
What a fine work!!!! Congratulations!!!
Very good! I'm from Americana SP Brasil.
How many different ways are there to clean crap off stuff!!
This was so mesmerizing to watch.
This channel celebrates the ingenuity of man. I subscribed immediately.
Great job, my uncle used to have one of these and he would put the loop end on something solid, hold the beaded end, and move the sharpener with his other hand. Much easier than trying to hold and pull both ends.
this was awesome, thank you!!!
Beautiful craftsmanship well worth a sub 😎👍
Attention. You placed two of the four "sharpening stones" differently from before. They were arranged with one side pointing up and outwards, and the other pointing up and inwards. Great job, mate.
what's the process happening around 2:40?
How did you fixed back the pieces that you cut out at 06:21 and 08:16 ?
for every task the perfect tool. i m loving it.
Did anybody elses grandfather sharpen his razor blades by swiping the back and forth on old sheets of newspapers?
The actual 4 bars that sharpen inside, when removed initially they are a different orientation than when they are restored and put back. Are they backwards now or were they backwards before?
Bravo usta sanatçısın sen süpersin
These boats are available in amazon India it costs around 2$ each i have like 4 of them rn
First mini cassette player? Unsubscribed, not interested. Dime a dozen.
That’s a fallout 4 lighter! 4+ rad
Very nice machine....Hungry litle one hour...?
Impressive 😲
Evelyn Martines where are you?
I think she’s away 😞🙌

I watched my grandfather use the inside of a drinking glass to sharpen his razor blade before lathering up with old spice out of a mug. I have his soap and lathering brush... its worth nothing to anyone else , but when i hold it , i have that picture of me and my grandfather when i was a child in my head... good memories... thanks for the memory
Thanks a lot 🙏 So touching to bring the memories back 😌🙌
Remember my grandfather sharpening his razors on sheets of newspapers ...I think the paper was a bit rougher back then...he'd swipe the razor across the paper till the print became blurred ha ha.
@@copee2960 Thats cool... good to know another method... Thanx Never heard of that... butt , we used to crumple the newspaper up and use it for no#2 when camping.... i'm sure glad our newspapers weren't that rough. L8R SK8R
Try it with a modern, brighter LED?
Curious as to why you use paint stripper instead of just sand blasting them.
Not to have too much paint and lead residue in the tank of the sandblasting machine ;)
Ah - that makes sense. Hadn’t thought of that. Love your work btw.
Thank you !!
