1932's Live Steam Locomotive - Bowman LNER 300 - Restoration
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here is a new video !!
This is a rare Live Steam model train produced by the English company "BOWMAN" around 1932.
The seller told me the last time he saw it running was when he was a little boy... 50 years ago !!
A few versions of that 0-4-0 locomotive were made and I think the original color of that particularly one was green.
I really wanted to keep that loco neat once restored but... I promised I would make it run again... and honestly I really wanted to see it on the rail track !!
I've had to create new labels, even if they have been damaged by the heat... I'll make new ones !! :)
Please watch till the end to see this rare live steam locomotive in action !
By supporting the channel you help me make more of these video and find more amazing items.
I hope you'll enjoy this restoration.
Thanks a lot for watching !

I've always enjoyed seeing the old being given a new lease on life. You, Chip Channel Restorations, AR Restoration, and other channels like y'all are always fun to watch. It's good that little steamie has a new home that loves it enough to restore it to full working order. Hope it lasts many more years and the great great grandkids of the future have it running and taken care of still.

When watching, I cringed at the stickers and the end of the video proved me right. The original was painted. Stickers should not be used. I also think sand blasting brass is a terrible idea. Could have dunked the boiler in vinegar for a short time for better clean. Also I caution against jbweld on boilers.

Takes me back to the 1960s and my Dad. He restored that model of locomotive. We found it in junk shop in Margate UK. Many hours of fun! It towed house bricks on flat wagons to slow it down and prevent derailment. How I loved that engine. 😎🚂

I have one of these with the bowman 234 tender engine and for the age they run quite well just have to be careful what they are pulling because if they go around a corner too fast they will flip over and methylated spirits will spill and catch fire
More attention than the manufacturer gave it I'm sure. What an outstanding restoration...

I just love how the little tin Engineer is involved with everything.
Needs stainless steel plates mounted between the boiler and the original panel with the decals on with a gap between them to act as a barrier to possibly stop the decals getting damaged. But stunning restoration regardless. Love the fact it was mostly bolted together and not rivetted.
Another super restoration. LNER used to pass near where I live.

Well that’s… AMAZING
The condition of this locomotive is so telling of it's story- You can just look at it to see that the original owner took great pride in it by how it is still in completely original condition with minimal external wear/damage for it's age... Quite honestly, it's more than a little awe-inspiring seeing how something so old, can still be in such good condition with the proper construction of the maker and care of the owner... I do genuinely hope that you continue to do more restorations like these in the future!

Wonderful restoration! Those are the toy steam engines I like best - run on steam like the originals!
Great to see this! As a kid my dad used to tell me he had one as a child in the 1930’s. He had to weigh down the coaches with stones from the back garden , otherwise loco and coaches would fly off on the curves and set fire to the living room carpet. Eventually he swapped it for some Meccano with a kid from school. I don’t think I ever forgave him for that! Now at last I know what he had 😂 Who knows, maybe this is actually the one he owned? Dad passed on in 2013, so I guess I’ll never know. He did tell me he got ripped off, as the other kid never gave him all the Meccano he owed him. What a pity your lovely LNER apple green paintwork got so scorched. Great to see her running though !
