I have a Wilesco D10 that I have had since I was about 10 years old. I'm 64 now and it still runs great. I run it every few years to and keep it lubed and it good condition.

Cool, got one for Cmas in early 60’s. Ended up in parts cause I needed the sheet metal to fabricate a new transmission shifter plate.

WOW, great work. If I tried to restore a steam engine. I would never know what materiasl to use to clean it. Yet having the stuff to do it with. And remembering how to put it back together. Totally out standing.😃❤👍

Over 50 years ago my mother bought me this steam engine and some toys to attach. My father screwed all to an wooden board. So much fun... until some sealing rings broke. :-/ Your restauration brought so many memorys back!

I had the EXACT same model (down to the colours) when I was a kid in the 70s. Absolutely loved it. Came with a small red plastic funnel to fill the boiler. Guess they must have made them for quite a while. Great restoration work, really beautiful! Thanks for bringing back those memories 👍💯

We use to have one. My Brother loved it. When he would start it up Id be thrilled to watch. Don't recall what happened to it. :(

Beautiful job!

I have one. It is electrically heated. It was left plugged in and the water ran dry. The water guage cracked, spring on the safety blow-off was weaked and the stainless steel boiler was tarnish. I was 12 year old at the time. My dad was a tool and die maker and was able to restore it to some degree but it was never as it had been just out of the box. I would like to really have this 60 year old treasure restored but don't know anyone who could do it. Your video gave me hope that there might be hope for the engine.

The right tools and supplies are everything - apart from personal skills. A lot of money and time must have been invested into this stuff to build up such a working bench. Great video with nice close-up shots. Very well edited.

I was imagining the engineer who made this in the 1950's. Quite an great feat of miniature engineering.

toys and devices of years gone by, show the test of time.. you cant get things built like this anymore.. even forgotten and neglected ones come back by an artisans hand when they are discovered.. its great to see things like this brought back and saved from peoples attics/barns/basements... truly an art and very glad its shown. thank you.

Thank you very much for this posting. You have no idea how close this phenomenal restoration is to my heart. My dad gave me one of these steam engines over 60 years ago. I still have it. It's one of my very most cherished things from my youth. I had four or five of the workers as well. I believe they were almost all stolen during a break-in. I was so happy to see that you could buy the gasket kits from the original manufacturer. I will have to order a set. ~Stay healthy, happy, and safe.~
