You know I noticed something.. Daniel, I deeply respect your achievements in the octagon and consider you one of the all-time greats. However, I believe that Jon Jones' absence significantly influenced the championship dynamics during that period. This view isn't to diminish your accomplishments; you proved your elite status by stepping up and defending the title admirably. My perspective, shared by many fans, isn’t about diminishing your legacy but acknowledging how timing and circumstances shaped the championship narrative. You were undoubtedly a true champion, demonstrating incredible skill and dedication. While we may see things differently, it doesn’t detract from your integrity and the respect you command in the sport. Your contributions have undeniably enriched MMA.
But at the same time you don't consider the fact that Jones cheated and scummed his way to his achievements. He was a young, oversized dude on PEDs beating up old smaller dudes. Often using eye pokes, intentionally might I add, to get those victories. But I get that you have to have somone's D down your throat, and Jones is your man for the job. So slob away.

I hear the argument about Stipe being the last of Jon’s generation and all they’ve done. However, I believe the reason we fans are being so vocal about Aspinall is because the man has the interim belt, AND we, as fans, don’t like Jon. We want to hold hope there is a guy we can finally see smash him. Stipe is not that guy.

Can’t agree with you on the stipe fight man. Stipe is too old and been away for too long. The fans don’t wanna wait for a fight they don’t care about with an aging champ and an old fire fighter. We want the supposed greatest of all time to use his limited time in this sport to fight an incredibly dangerous young fighter.
