Daniel Cormier PLEADS we support Sean Strickland with mental health struggles + Garry's wife CALLOUT

Спорт

Sean Strickland recently made headlines for comments on other fighters as well as his struggles with mental health, and Daniel Cormier is here to give his instant reaction to hearing the video Sean shared on Instagram. Listen to why Cormier INSISTS that we need to treat Strickland like we did Alexander Volkanovski. Plus, DC gives his thoughts on Ian Garry Machado's wife calling out Sean Strickland. And don't miss why Cormier finds himself agreeing with Sean Strickland in regards to wanting to see a Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones fight.

I agree. It's just sad that he regularly denies giving that same empathy and compassion to others who need it. It can be very hard to sympathize with such a hypocrite. His childhood trauma is an explanation, but it's not an excuse. He is a grown man and needs to have some personal responsibility for himself, his actions & his mental health. He needs to seek help.

Sean Strickland does deserve the support, and he should get it. Yes, dude has a great deal of baggage around mental health, and has said some fucked up stuff regarding the mental illness of other people. So what? So… we all mock him and he blows his brains out? So… we all mock him and he kills someone? So… he breaks down and never fights again, making our sport worse? But what if instead: he goes through this and changes his mind about mental health? His audience that supports his bullshit on mental health is exposed to the fact Sean was made better and stronger? There is a stigma around Mens mental health that a lot of us have been indoctrinated into. That doesn’t mean men who hold that stigma dont need and deserve mental health help.

No, these 2 are not the same. The difference is that Alexander Volkonovski does not lash out at others & belittle them as an outlet. Mental health problems do not provide a free pass to be an awful person. Sean Strickland needs psycotherapy & deep introspection. His traumatic upbringing along with atrocious social/political ideologies have caused a distortion of emotional regulation & reality in general. He admitted that he is a potential danger to others. This man needs professional help before he does end up harming innocent people.

All she did this week was add more fuel to the fire by bringing it back up again and calling out other fighters. If they really wanted to keep their relationship out of the picture, then she wouldn't be getting involved with the sport like this. For that you can't have sympathy. You can't play the victim and then play the bully at the same time.

Good on you, my brother, to use your star power to help someone facing mental health issues, you should do the same and speak against gambling addiction instead of promoting it. It is still hard to believe that a star like you needs to advertise that stuff to scrap a few extra bucks. Spend some times with families that suffered from someone's gambling addiction and then take a decision if it is wise to promote during 2 minutes in each of your videos.

It’s funny how different the MMA community reacts to this post this with two different titles. In the shorter version people are bashing DC but here they love him for speaking out for Sean😂😂 but in short one they hate him for protecting Garry as well💀 MMA fans are so fking fickle it’s hilarious

I think he needs to speak to someone, i don't think he'll want to see a professional though (IMO he should)in a situation where there are no cameras.

I'm soo alergic to the word consumer, I am not consuming your or ufc content, I choose to use your entertainment services as your paying customer, the second you fail to provide what you or ufc are paid for by me, I will be out till I determine that you deserve it again. Consumer implies lack of choice, customer has the choice.

You are not wrong. He got opportunities, his title shot one of them, from embarrassing and harassing people. However for things to get better we need to do better. He doesn't deserve perse but the wise thing to do is to still give.

I think Khalil would probably disagree with you. Sometimes people who have mental issues lash out at others with mental issues and make fun of them to deflect from their own problems.

Yeah DC that's all well and nice but can we stop having amnesia about the Neil Magny and Geoff Neal things that Garry did. And he and his wife were open that she manages him and those were her ideas. What annoys me about them is that they basically don't have a freaking idea what is their endgame. Colby is the villain, Colby is the heel. He fully accepted that. Ian and his wife want to be the heel, the hero, the victim and the attacker all at once and expect peope to love them for that. That's just not the way the world works. I am not spiteful but they really brought all this on themselves. And he failed to take some responsibility for Magny almost losing his kids. But then at the presser went all nice and made friends with Geoff. Pretty pathetic.
