I gonna try this trick for speaker boxes !
Did you get it covered in cement/sand? Would love to see how it turned out.
Cheers to writing books and drinking coffee 😊
Wizard Handyman!
Magic 😍
Whats your drug of choice?
Good coffee and getting into the flow state :)
You should have over a million subscribers!!
Sorry about the sound... There may be a retake... Rosie insisted!
Production quality is forgiven. Thanks for inviting us to your table.
You can never get enough of that KIWI knowledge. The accent doesn't hurt.
Just found you fell immediately in love and cannot wait to meet you someday my friend I really enjoy your videos! Happy Welding!🫶🏻🤩
A question about your potential class. Would it be a conversation about ideas or a download. If it’s a two way street then sign me up! Love your content, thanks for sharing
You are the wizardy king of youtube! Good work i like the finished staff
The information on this channel is inspiring! I would like to create a princess dress figure in the garden for flowers to climb up. Any suggestions?
Just saw your question.. yes, definitely could do an ethereal figure with chicken wire over rods or lengths of fencing wire stuck in the ground bent over and shaped. Lace together with lacing wire...
Great idea - I want to seal the edges of some particle board (high density) treads that were used under carpet on stairs down to my basement. I ripped carpet off - was hoping to find some sort of wood. So, I want to just make these smooth on the ends (the tops are smooth and the risers are made out of wood) - and prime/paint/seal them. I was just going to use some joint compound - and then primer - but this makes more sense to me. Thanks for the tip!
Amazing! You just solved my problem about how to make rebar to reinforce my post foundation. So resourceful!
Promo'SM ☺️
Dude, sort your audio out, can't hear a damn thing you said.
Brilliant! Great video. Ozzie ingenuity!
I have two good speakers but you do not speak loud enough,
It's the cicadas I think..sorry. I'm used to them! I'll have to look into wireless microphones...
Awesome! Thanks so much for showing!
Equidistance know thyself p-funk Thinking Wright😊
Don't know how you did it with free panels, normally takes 12.
Haha 😂
@@wizardofeutopia thanks for being a good sport 😁
Very cool Peter! I use to see those piles of timber on the road and wanted to make something and here you are making away 😊
Yes I use them a lot...all our new shelves, I wood grain the library shelves and shellac them. And storage shelves and the partitions and inside walls. A garden shed too, clad with old corrogated iron...
❤ I made one of those using $60 U.S. one dollar bills using origami and a little hot glue. Each bill weighs one gram so five equals a 5 gram pentagram. I found it interesting the shape of the individual bill represents the Compass, Square and Spirit level. Each star takes me 33(1/3) minutes to fold. I stuck a needle in one point of the star then used my foot powered wheel to play a phonograph record at roughly 33(1/3) RPM. you should bevel the edges of the cuts so it joins flush. 36° bevel i think. I know 6 is 30° and 8 is 22.5°. 4 sided Pyramids are 45° bevel.
Fascinating account, thanks for sharing. So the sound came out of the folded and glued shape...was it quite loud? Yes bevelled edges would be nice - though I'm planning to plaster the dodecahedron probably. That will make it waterproof for outdoors. If for indoors I'd go for plywood and bevel the edges...
PS looking forward to seeing how it feels to sit quietly and meditate in a dodecahedron:) And to learn more about that and other Platonic solids.
@@wizardofeutopia in my recent videos it is titled "necessity is the mother of all invention". I always confuse the star tetrahedron and dodecahedron. Like my Hex-O-Pod I'm not sure what to call the shape. I just know I weave a spider that can support my weight from a center point in between the gap of the top of the frame. My "UFO technology" video is the spider🕷 I use in the 🔯 shaped frame. In vortex math I use expressions like "Base 12 Step 7" when done correctly it looks like spokes of a bicycle wheel. 7, 2, 9, 4, 11, 6, 1, 8, 3, 10, 5, 12 is the dance around the clock face using Base 12 Step Seven. If you are after magnets remember the left hand rule and the right hand rule dictates the north and south poles. As above, so below. With a prime Base number like 5 you can Step by 6. With 6 rods you could could fish a line using 5 rods to keep the line held to your 5 perimeter holes. The sixth is your hub the line is weaved around. I know there is debate on the bible term of "Camel" being "Cable". Years ago I had a string theory then someone suggested I read Ezekiel after what they heard me describe. Last year I used a 2 ounce weight hanging from nylon string to fish soft iron wire thru my pipe dream. Older texts uses the word "Knops" with my dyslexia I red "Knobs" knot reel eye zing(not realizing)there was a difference. I subscribed to your channel a while back because of you bending rebar using long pipes. I show people how I use fishing hookS to overload a line for lifting heavy objects. Rebar makes nice hooks if tempered properly. Isaiah 22:22-25 holds the 🗝 of a lot of weight supported by a single nail. Like my Solomon harp titled "Sam Clams Disco" is 24 feet of 2×3 lumber sitting on a wine glass to amplify the vibrations of the six 46 gauge guitar strings. I'm debating on buying 12 more machine heads so I have 18 anchor knobs attached to the center knops. One day I'll drag it to the music store and test Cello bows to see what sound it makes. I know if I rest a glass of water on the center I can lightly strum a string and water will jump out of the over half empty glass. Without a resonator it sounds like a electric guitar with no amplifier. My wife was surprised how loud a 5 gram pentagram (plus needle w8) hanging from a string could be. She could hear it in the next room with the door closed. It took a lot of trail and error to weave the strange webs I weave. So with my dodecahedron I'm trying to map out the path a single thread could travel to interlock all 60 points not crossing paths more than once where 2 points junction 30 times. I used 2.2 grams of hot glue to secure all the points and it took 20 helium balloons from the dollar store to achieve lift off. The shape has many anchor points to maintain level flight. Sorry for being long winded. Look forward to seeing how your project turns out. Just remember 72° wedges make great corner supports that can be screwed together from the outside. 144° ,72° , 144° triangles .😁
That's a lot of ideas, much of which is suggestive of cool things though not clear to me.. your 24 ft guitar sounds amazing... I'll run it by my son @therobba and my friend Charles who stays at dreamspace.. they have a small soundproof room here and a music room... I'll try and make a video of them making some sounds...
Give that man a hammer 😅
Pewter is lead and tin right ?
No lead in pewter for drinking at least, it's a common misconception that all pewter has lead. Even in middle ages they knew and guilds controlled the different alloys and prohibited lead in drinking and eating vessels.
Super work, Wizard. High art, indeed. Keep up the good work.
It's just a start... Thanks for the praise though!
I have made ton's of Ferrocement as one of the last Ferrocement boat repair " Sandmen " As we were taught the hows & why's if ever we called it concrete the boss would curse "it's not bloody concrete " Ferrocement is water tight, concrete is not. My own recipe for Ferro is as follows . 2 finest sharp sand to 1 Portland No 5 cement after 15 % of the sand has been replaced with a pozzolan like DE or Fly ash add water re slump test and for boats I add a tiny amount of Trioxide crystals to eliminate the gas made when galv gets wet plaster on it causing a honeycomb effect ( not wanted on boats ) If applied with skill , a 2mm final skim coat over wire will see no cracking .I recently did a wall at Eutopia Cafe
Very similar to my mix... I use amorphous silica brand name microsilica.
So what is ferrocement? Rebar reinforced mortar?
Hi..it's a thin shell of strong mortar - cement plaster - trowelled into various thicknesses of steel bar and or mesh usually with several layers of fine half inch -13mm- chicken wire tightly laced together with thin wire. The plaster is often smoothed over with a second coat but the steel remains close to the surface so there's a lot of fine reinforcement throughout the shell. It's Sunday and that's a rough description only!
Is this a New Zealand thing, to wear a sport coat while doing metalworking? Classy. 😊
I like coats... And cheap at opshop! Quick to put on or take off in the changeable NZ weather... And usually good pockets for stuff...
Ingenioso. Justo los que estaba buscando. Gracias buen hombre.
Lovely human and process!
wonderful.......your shop looks very similar to mine...cheers from Florida , USA...Paul,,,,,a new subscriber....
Fantástico
Very cool really enjoyed watching you. 😊
Can you imagine the kids nowadays replacing gentlemen like this? And if they did would they be wearing a suit jacket? Different times ahead for sure! Props to you Sir!
Wonderful
Where can I find more information about one of your workshops?
Hi, thanks for your interest... I seem to be always working on the next thing, and not teaching the things already (somewhat) mastered... I need a wizard-organiser to make workshops happen perhaps... I try to make how-to videos as I go though... one coming soon on how I converted a trailer into a 'hobbit wagon'... If you're in Gisborne call in and we can have an impromptu and discuss more
🌟 'Promo SM'
That was a really good video, and I can be a critical judge!
Simple is always best
It’s on my bucket list! 12:01 😊
That's a great movie, the Bucket list... What is on yours from what I said?
@@wizardofeutopia well, making a flower pot from an old tyre, great stuff.
This was very helpful. I like what you're doing. I'm getting close to 70 myself and feel I need to make some videos about things to pass on to others different from the other videos I have been making in the past. Thanks again.
Yes! Put it out as your wisdom for the next generation in the (global) village. Your tribe will really appreciate it. Leave a legacy...
I remember years ago, pots used to be made with the tyre still on the wheel, so the steel wheel was the base.
Yes I used to see those... much heavier and not as available to recycle. Remember the swan ones, too? They were more sculptural. Required fabric tyres I think, as the tread was cut?
@@wizardofeutopia Ahh great times :)
Yes, just harder to find the rims on.. also with purely rubber they are nice and flexible, indestructible by running over etc...
Hello Peter- Ive just sent you an email. Often I get dumped in the spam folder. Stuart.
ok i will look
Great ..you make little woodstoves from old gas cylinders. Put a link to your channel?
@@wizardofeutopia this is why we should play together peter. I have a key to the dump recycle yard
Love how you share your passion for recycling
Glad it comes across - the tires were an obsession for a few years... Challenging trying to scale it up...
❤
my kinda treasure
great advice on the process...and the pitfalls of thinking that stop the process point blank. i really appreciate the time you guys take to share this stuff...it so resonates with me
Peter, I so love how you think and who you are......so very very creative........so very.
Thanks! It's a battle of thoughts to a huge degree... I'm an optimist so I keep trying ideas out .. and an optimiser not a perfectionist so I keep improving things rather than giving up when it's not perfect... I'm noticing a development process is always fractal - you have several parts to a big solution, you solve them and think it's done but then as you work to 'perfect' your solution each of those parts turns up second level problems which can look just as large as the original problem... So you can give up unless you are prepared for this phenomenon and get down to each new problem with a beginners mind again... Always new insights and ideas are needed, at every level of improvement... I'm in the middle of that now!
