Static CamperVan

Static CamperVan

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.
Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home.
Please follow along as I document my journey.

The traffic down in San Diego is insane,,traveled down to visit my cousins few months back.I was born down there,,,and spent the 60's during my childhood , many fond memories wasn't too bad back then, the local Taco Bell in Clairemont had a fire pit outside,,it seemed like they only had tacos, and were great.

That’s my neighborhood! If you just turned right from the front of Whole Foods onto Mayette Ave. You could have still parked on the right side (commercial side of the st.), but had a much quieter night than on Yulupa which is a busier street. Howarth park is part of a complex of parks, each with its own lake, all connected by the trails: Spring Lake County Park with Spring Lake and Trione-Annadel State Park, home to Lake Ilsanjo. If you ever return you can spend days exploring the lakes and trails. Parking is free at Howarth Park and you can walk into the other parks from there. We are so fortunate to live here. At the end of Summerfield one block north of the Howarth Park entrance is Lakeside Pure Water. They sell water by the gallon and it’s very inexpensive. I hope you will return and explore more (best times of the year are Spring and Fall. It’s hot and dry in summer and rainy in winter.

Tuque (plural tuques) (Canada) a knit cap, often woollen but of varying shape, usually conical and topped by a pom-pom. Watch cap (plural watch caps) A knitted cap, such as the one worn by a seaman when on watch. Correcting terminology on one of your old videos. BTW this ain't Canada, and you're missing a Pom-pom😉

Regarding living in the desert, there is a lady that lives as a nomad in the desert year round. One summer she said she thought she was going to die of either dehydration or heat stroke. On top of this, I think the heat and the solitude has affected her mental health, and yes she openly talks about this. So I think it's wiser to do what you are doing and be where you can more easily get water, food and gas and be in cooler temps.

When I’m in Santa Monica, I park/sleep on one of the streets that run off the north end of Ocean, where there are lots of big apartment buildings. It’s super quiet at night and there are plenty of overnight spots.

Oh, okay, now I get it, your van problems that is, someone once told me that the acronym stands for 'Fix It Again Tony' or FIAT. And Tacoma looks like a fine place to visit and also is the name for a popular truck. Actually, Tacoma means snowy mountain, Mt. Ranier I'm guessing ?...take care and until the next one !!

I want you vedio on this suggestion. People don't want use pot for mixing eggs. People must use empty cann which they throw. Cann is clean just wash with water and use it for mixing eggs with other ingredients. Second article is empty patoto chips or other article plastic. Put it inside cann for good grip. Put eggs or other ingredients mix well, after using throw it. Two in one job of mixing. People can grade vegetable like carrot and reddish and keep in advance . Cut the plastic open it make it wide for keeping using on platform of kitchen. Think about it. No need to wash just throw it. Jay bharat.

laundromat terrors! i agree finding a good one is not easy today. i just did a light comforter and a med. spent $7.50 wash the big and $4.50 wash the small. first i did the sniff test to see if i could smell mold inside the washer or the soap area. i could but just a little. all the machines needed a wipe down. to dry was $3.00 n it took 48 mins for each comforter. you could no longer clean out the lint trap because they took away the paper towels that used to be by the sink. so maybe that was my problem but i swear my 2 comforters smell worse now then when i put them in the machines. it's depressing. also had to pick hair off and it wasn't my hair!🙄 lots of dirty looking people in there. hey i lived in a vehicle for 4 years so when i say dirty looking people, i don't mean presentable to your best ability but haven't been able to shower in a week. i mean dirty. i don't know. do they recycle the water?

Sadly, many of these clips are romantised as living this lifestyle is exceedingly difficult. I guess if the next step down is living on the streets then I guess you have no alternative but to exist in a vehicle. This lifestyle is very difficult and lonely and one is always in survival mode ... Looking for safe parking Looking for fresh water Looking for ablutions to keep your body clean. Looking to dump sewage Etc etc etc. folk should simply not have to live this way.
