His job was to sit and look pretty while his daughter married her counsin some times removed who was in the military that fleed from combat without orders to fall back. He was not like King George VI whos job was also to sit and look pretty while his daughter was a military mechanic who married her cousin some times removed who served the military exemplary.

The Generals of WWI were defiantly NOT the conscripts of WWI. They were professional soldiers from West Point and Sandhurst. They were the same bloody minded professionals that learned their craft as staff officers safely behind the lines during WWI sending waves of men to their deaths and then in WWII landed troops into the face of machineguns on Omaha Beach and Iwo Jima. How many US generals died in WWII? Of the 40 American generals and admirals that died in WWII 23 died in aircraft accidents and two killed themselves. McNair was killed by friendly fire. Rose, Buckner, Pratt, Forrest, Wilson, Ramey, Searby, Gaves and Keerans who were killed by the enemy were the exceptions.

According to the bushido “way” a single life weighs less than a feather in the pursuit of the emperor. As she said, it was out of a sense of obligation.. why they felt that? It was instilled into them and became cultural.

On the Japanese different culture we still try to judge everybody on their own cultural identity on their own ideas what's right and wrong to the Japanese a man to be a man it's a warrior Warrior never surrenders Warrior dies before he gives up if he's wounded or crippled he's no longer a warrior he's no longer a man so we don't be treated like a human being he's useless to be a servant it's the code of of the Samurai just like people can't figure out what islamics in the Middle East and the others that have been raised in this Islamic culture do the things they do it's in her teaching it's in their culture it's in their ideology

My grandmother was a teenager in japan during ww2. She was not unaware of what the empire did and was glad to become an american. As Americans, we should never apologize for dropping the bomb. We saved millions of japanese and American lives doing so.

This particular episode sort of showed her weakness in certain issues like the foreboding in Germany and Japan. Perhaps being bombed made it less personal as opposed to being massacred/killed face to face.

I mean, the bombing of Tokyo, while by modern standards it would probably be considered a war crime, still needed justification in terms of strategic objectives. The massacres of the Poles did not.

What is this woman talking about? What does she seriously think that atomic bombs prevented famine and saved millions of civilians. She has to accept that America is the only country in the world that dropped an atomic bomb on a nation and there is no excuse. People were burning alive, melting in extreme pain. They wanted to kill as many Japanese as possible, but they could drop a bomb on an uninhabited area and thus show them the destructive power and inform them that next time they will drop on big cities if they don't surrender. And this woman now associates the atomic bomb with starvation

This is a ridiculous comparison. The legitimate Government was considered corrupt by the US only after they chose closer ties to Russia. The US puppet regime installed after was so corrupt they had to hire an exiled Georgian criminal to govern Odessa. That same criminal exiled from his own country for embezzlement quit declaring the US puppet regime too corrupt to function. Until the start of this war it was a recognized fact that Neo-fascist militias and their political supporters where found everywhere in Ukraine. Those militias and their US backed supporters made Bandera, a man who served Hitler exterminating Poles, Russians, Tatars and Ukrainians. They passed laws outlawing the Russian language. Then the war began. When the Russians win the propaganda is they are committing genocide. When they are being held back it is the brave ukrainian resistance or the Russians cowardice/inckmpitence/corruption. When bringing up those fascist militias, the facts are buried and the party line is they are now just part of the army. Even more ridiculous the excuses that people offer like it was never the battalions that were neo-fascist just nationalists. Putin calls out Nazis in Ukraine and the worlds response was "we know but Putin is a bad guy". Russia invades Ukraine and putin calls out Nazis in Ukraine and the world's response becomes "What nazis, they're just nationalists, Putin is lying". There has been a ukrainian national identity, the Donbass does not have it because they are mostly Russian. The Crimea doesn't have it because they are mostly Russian with a small number of tatars. Those areas were never part of Ukraine. They were transferred to ukraine when they were republics in the same country. Not as two separate countries exchanging land. This notion that Putin is forcing the Ukrainian national identity is absurd, it already existed. They overwhelmingly supported Hitler and regretted it. They still cheer on Hitler servant Stepan Bandera as a national hero, Zelinski is not some champion of freedom and equality. He has pushed many of the same policies against Ukrainians that the US and EU condemn in Russia. He targets opponents, he nationalized media broadcasts and internet closing any publication that he accused of being pro-russian. What we are seeing in Ukraine is the result of the US meddling in the internal affairs of another nation to spite Russia. The US funded the rebels, encouraged the Madan riots and controlled the most corrupt government Ukraine has had since its creation in 1991. That has now been superceded by an authoritarian regime no different from the one we claim in Russia. Also, to address the claim that the Russians are bombing the same people who supported them. This person does not understand how munitions work. You fire them at your enemies and your enemies fire them at you. The Ukrainians are the ones destroying homes and killing civilians in the Donbass and crimea because they are trying to take it. Russias bombardment of Ukraine is a part of war, one which is cheered and accepted when Ukraine attacks Russian cities and infrastucture.

And the Western allied forces had to destroy at all cost, using every dirty trick in the book to break the national spirit and pride of Germany and Japan, which they did most effectively. Now they are targeting their next biggest rival, Russia. Except the world has woken up to their hypocrisy and hunger for world domination and is fighting back.

Zelenskyy produced a satirical TV series and also starred in it: Servant of the People. It can be really funny and it tells a lot about what drives him. Corruption is the main theme, but there is also a lot of political philosophy spelled out in dream sequences and it can be quite sharp. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servant_of_the_People_(2015_TV_series)
