Well, I’ve watched 24 minutes of this. Forgive me for not staying till the end. I think I’ve got the gist of it. What is striking about this is that Dr Amina is fundamentally in agreement with those right-wingers in the Conservative party she criticises. Both she and they agree that Islam is fundamentally incompatible with western values. As far as praying in schools is concerned, let’s be clear what this is really about. This is about the Muslim community policing itself. The idea that this is about the rights of a child is disingenuous. Once children are given the right to pray, community pressure will ensure that that right becomes an obligation. The same goes for the hijab. Many Muslims think that their women should cover up. But how do you enforce that as a social norm in a western country? The answer is that you cynically use the language of freedom and individual choice to get the British state to cooperate with you in enforcing Muslim social norms. It’s interesting that when Dr Amina talks about Muslim children, she talks about “their culture“. Well, if they’re British, British culture is “their culture“, isn’t it? But Dr Amina thinks “their culture“ is Muslim culture. She wants the British state to assist her in ensuring that Muslims maintain that Muslim culture. That is not the job of the British state. And obviously there’s no such thing as anti-Muslim racism because Muslims are not a race.

Protests taking place in the streets especially in London have been family friendly and I've observed nothing haram. People need to take a balanced approach and stop taking an extreme approach which is unIslamic.

I so want to learn more about this but i'm so burnt out over the Gaza matter I get headaches seeing/hearing the amount and level of injustice and murder going on for bullsh*t beliefs and ideologies.
I'm currently living in the war zone, it's the worst life any one could imagine, wallahi i don't wish this life to my enemies but all we can say is alhamdulillah. Electricity went off for 2 months now, there's no water and probably there will be a famine soon. Most people are homeless now. I feel hopeless, but seeing that some people are shedding light on us brings ease to my heart. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Unfortunately Muslims cannot uphold the British Values and they get into harmful discussions. They still have to learn how to be in the British environment and be inclusive. At the same time keep on their religious work. They cannot find the balance and avoid unnecessary conflict . And afterward they feel hurt and marginalised. I am sorry.
