    None of you noticed he had a left to right hand thread adapter on the Acetylenl regulator and the wrong valve on the Acetylene tank? Your gas connections should always be left hand threads, and the grooves on the Connections for gas indicate left hand threads. Oxy connections are right hand threads.

    Dude, you used 80 amps on the rods that recommend 40-60 amps. It's was OBVIOUSLY burning WAY too hot for the 6013s. Which also makes the slag much harder to chip off. You can't be serious with this video...

    Hi, i have a question if we perform the butt welding on steel plates 10cm wide and 5 mm thick. Can we use this sheet to produce the coil by hot rolling? Will the joint sustain the hot rolling process?

    What you are attempting is in fact an autogenous weld. Your filler material will be as close to identical to the tube material. That is the definition of autogenous. TIG welding these two parts would be your best option.

  • @janettewelsh2165
    @janettewelsh21653 ай бұрын

    That copper tube does not contain any steel. It's almost pure copper just like your filler wire. The extra strength you are talking about comes from the cold forming process in the manufacturing of the tube itself. When you heat it to weld it you will anneal it locally and soften that area.

    You've got a real good voice and this looks of good production value video, but then you're comparing different diameter rods. Please do another comparing the rods but with the same diameter. You were the first result in a '6011 vs 6013' search; please use that youtube algorithm advantage to make a fair comparison.

    @@FerrousPhoenixNice video. A few questions if you don't mind.... I have a small oxy/acetylene setup (10 cu. ft. acet & 20 cu. ft. oxy). I bought it to mostly just for heating up rusted nuts & bolts as I work on cars quite a bit. I read online that with my setup, it's not safe to use any size rosebud bc of the unsafe acetylene flow rate. If this is true, what size copper welding/brazing tip should I use? I have a #0, #1 & #2. Is #2 big enough to do it or should I go a bit bigger? Also, what should the pressures be for the appropriate tip size for my application? My other main question is ...Would a small Mapp pro/ oxy kit be cheaper and/or more efficient to run than the oxy/acet setup? I read that the tiny oxygen cylinders run out too quickly on these setups. However, if there is a way to hook up a larger oxygen tank to the small Mapp pro /oxy torch kit, then I would LOVE to do that. Is there anyway to do that safely? Thanks in advance..

    One more thing, if it is possible to switch the polarity the welder will be much better. The Postive is on the gun thus heating the wire way way too hot to where it just explodes ( EXTRA SPLATTER) WHERE IT SHOULD BE HEATING UP THE MATERIAL INSTEAD. SO A SWITCH OF POSTIVE AND NEGATIVE WOULD BE A MUST FIR THIS WELDER IF IT IS EVEN POSSIBLE ON THIS MODEL.

  • @FerrousPhoenix
    @FerrousPhoenix4 ай бұрын

    Unfortunately this welder is an A/C only machine. So the polarity is not able to change from negative to positive.

  • @thebell313
    @thebell3137 ай бұрын

    I think, you should start with the correct diameter. It absolutely doesn't look like 1/4. It is 1/8. There's a "golden rule" - 30 Amps per 1 mm of the rod diameter. Some adjustmen might be required depending on the metal. The penetration also depends on Amps, time and techniques. The thick metals usually should have the edges grinded to allow dipper penetration. Conclusion: For the best result you should have same diameter electrodes, similar Amps, correct techniques.
