@whitbywreckandreeffishing5 күн бұрын
Hi Andy. The 10-50g rod is an HTO Lure Game and has a more progressive action than the Saltist rod you see me use. As you said, the rods are rated for casting weight. I’ve found that I can work both rods with leads of up to 6oz no problem at all as there isn’t any casting involved. Just a short flick uptide sometimes if the wind is blowing. Of the two rods, I prefer the Saltist for this type of work and even working a 6oz lead, it doesn’t feel overloaded. 👍

@@kevinmccourt651I know what you’re saying Kevin. I’m a positive person and always try and make the trips on Sea Urchin a good experience, irrespective of how much we catch. I think a lot of the “Freezer Fillers” are not coming so often now, which for me is great, because the majority of the anglers who come aboard now, come for a day’s fishing out at sea and catching is viewed as a bonus. If they happen to get a box full, fantastic….but that’s not their primary reason for coming. They enjoy the day for what it is. Those are the anglers that I find are still coming regularly and they’re fantastic company. 👍
