  We actually have a jail tank and it worked for a very mean fish that actually lived in the jail tank for 4 Years! Now he does not chase the fish but now is victim of another fish and that fish will go to jail.

  While I think in theory this should work better I was personally a little underwhelmed by the results lol! My sponges are still plugging along, but I’ll probably replace them with this method. Thanks for sharing!

  I'll like to remind new viewers that household Pothos works great (or any other type that can have roots submerged in water). Cheap and works great along with aquatic plants (or not) when not heavily planted. Depending how many are added and bio load, zero nitrates is achievable!

  FYI, you can open the filter to clean it or replace it with better mediums. I have one and have mod it easily.

  You should have washed the ceramic media to get rid of the dust and other smaller particles. This would have ensured the filer doesn’t block so quickly and the water is clearer.

  How is the pond doing ? I've noticed that you took the gate out And not closing the outlet back to the pond. You just emptied dirty water back into the pond. Next time close it, fill it to the fullest and the. Open the drainage. That will never put dirty water back to the pond. Your pond ks pretty dirty. Clean the filter every 3-4 weeks and your pond will be clear I'm 3 months !

  I actually put my bully fish into a tank with my loner siamese fighting fish! 2 minutes in with him and once I placed the bully fish back into his home ...he was a changed fish from that day on! 😅😊❤

  For we brain impaired Americans it would be great if you gave the volume measurements in gallons as well as liters. I do okay with length of centimeters to inches but volume is much harder, especially for us old timers! I hear 10 liters and my brain thinks ---, hear 6-7 liters and my brain thinks ---. It simply doesn’t compute! I loved the video! I bought my first shrimp two weeks ago for an outside 55 gallon tank that is covered in algae. I was assured that they would live outside in our temperatures. I hope they are living their best lives eating algae because there is a lot in there!

  My platy is currently in the naughty box... AGAIN! One of my mollies gave birth in a breeder box, I left the fry in the breeder box and put the female mollie back in the main tank. naturally the male mollie wanted to re breed his girl, and the lone platy male, started fighting him and caused shredded tail fins. so right now my male platy is in the naughty box... and I probably need to solve the problem by getting him some female platy's as sadly they died a few months ago. Not sure why! I have had a problem with the exact same platy male before, and putting him in isolation til all the breeding Pheromones were gone did work in the past. Fingers crossed it will work again and getting him a couple of girls of his own again might restore peace to the aquarium. I think the isolation chamber does work in certain situations. I've also, re arranged the plants and so forth in the tank to create all new territories in the past when I've had aggressive angel fish and that worked as then they all had to figure it out all over again. With Angels, I keep two females to one male and that seems to be a good mix. I also have a large loach, who should be a bottom feeder but... when I put top food in he goes wild and eats at teh surface, bossing the top water and midwater feeders around. to resolve that issue, I always put in bottom water sinking pellets first, get him interested in that then do the top water feeding.

  i just removed shrimp eggs from my shrimp and dont have a snrimp hatchery but i got a bucket and put an air stone in it. Same effect, but a hatchery would be nice.

  Just went thru this with a red spotted gold severum that was dominating the tank and making everyone stressed. Tried all the tricks.. added more coverage, switched the decor around and finally removed him to a small tank by himself for about a week. It all failed and I had to rehome him.

  honestly say all these tips can not work longer, you can't change some fish's natural benhavier unless try my ways: sanding its teeth, and trim its breast or/and tail fins. THey works at least a few of months, and save other weakers' lives.

  So I have the fx 4 and the polishing pad and nitrate resin pad and the colored foam upgrade but they didn't arrive prior to set up. Tanks been cycling 12 days. Do you think it's OK to add the pads and give the filter a light clean in tank water to remove detritus at this point?
