  • @mattiasolsson1766
    @mattiasolsson17662 ай бұрын

    Usually we allow players in range of 13-15 years of age. Some 13 year olds are good at listening to rules and therefore are allowed to play. But all underage players require PERSONAL contact with the individuals parents or legal guardian. That basically means we have to meet with these people and talk about Airsoft and what it is. If we get a feeling that we arent on the same page regarding our safety-rules or what could happen, then we wont allow them to play. Underage players also need to use full cover face mask. Something that we have when renting our airsoftguns.

    Not sure a pvs 69 have as High sensitivity in the 980nm range as the Opsin. Also the Opsin have alot of functions that the PVS 69 dont. Also trying to compete against homemade analog an digital units would be impossible to a serious company. I have nothing against pvs 69 or analog though. Just think the Sionyx is getting more crap than it deserves.

  • @mattiasolsson1766

    Good question, LEDs doesnt work quite like halogen bulbs. They got their specific wavelenghts that they specialise in. If you look closely in the video at one point an example of this is made in a diagram. Some LEDs have double wavelenghts but im afraid these will result in less pure 980nm wavelenghts after the filter

  • @mattiasolsson1766
    @mattiasolsson17669 ай бұрын

    Depends, Since it doesnt work the same way as an analog system. The darker it gets the the more you have to lower the framerate (90-30fps). Some people have a hard time using it when the framerate goes to low. You can solve this by using an IR light in really dark environments so you dont need to go lower in fps. But then everyone else see you using a nods. The best reason to buy would be the shelf life, HUD functions, colour, recordfunctions. etc. But an analog system Gen2+ -gen3 is better in extreme low light overall. If you live in Europe like me, Sionyx may be a good option if you cant find anything else. But if you live in the US it may be better to buy an analog Gen3 since its easier to find there and for a reasonable price.

    Im guessing the footage speaks for it self (Opsin). Just remember the pricedifference is huge!. Also these devices are built for different uses. The Opsin is a dedicated helmetmountable device. Its ALOT more usable for moving around. The Aurora is made for use as a handheld camera that maybe can be used for helmet navigation if you have really low standards (i have done it). But the Aurora have dedicated photo functions for photography, filming and such. One example is adjustable shuttersspeed for stills that give you better pictures than the Opsin when using it on a tripod. By setting a slow shuttersspeed you get to see even more than what the Opsin can (on picture mode that is). When using 30 - 60fps videomode the difference is is alot better on the Opsin. The Opsin also auto adjust single pixels to black & white to make the image easier on your eyes. Examples of these can be seen in my videos when using a red laser. Hope that helps to answer your question 🙂.

    I have no doubt the opsin is a vast improvement over the aurora pro, that said i have the latter and have had some yrs now,and i have been very happy with it-which i would not be if was half as bad as your video suggests lol (Am putting it down to phone camera not picking it up as well as should rather than a purposefull intention to make it seem rubbish compared to the opsin, am only mentioning as the aurora is still a v.good (and a lot cheaper) alternative to those not having the opsin price tag within their budgets -that said,am trying it at airsoft this weekend instead of a red dot sight both during day skirmishes and night ones to test out how viable is in airsoft since my red dot does not have a zoom option like the aurora :) ) Admitterdly mind i do just because i can, use an IR torch to make things clearer a lot of time...

    Since i not a native English speaker i not sure i understood everything you wrote correctly. The video i made is 100% non based towards any of these units and i own them both. Im holding the units beside each other at the same time. Its a reason for why i added all the background light information in the video. Im living far away from citylights in a dense forest. Which mean poor light conditions that result in bad results with a digital sensor. The winner in low light is analog, the Opsin is a better tool for fast movement and shooting in the digital realm compared to the Aurora but will also need IR at these extreme conditions. Im not sure if you are trying to say im trying to make the Aurora look bad in comparison to the Opsin.or if its me reading you wrong. The Aurora pro is in a League of its own as its a ordinary handcamera that CAN be used as a compromise for shooting but not as effective as the Opsin (headmounted that is). Looking through the Opsin and the Aurora is very different in real life since the file compression makes the Opsin look alot worse than it is. If you watch my video "Lämmlarna at Mercs" and move to the nvg part im using the Aurora pro at an airsoftgame. Its usable and if Ir isn't an issue then its its even better. To be fair though neather of these units will work great against a decent analog if you enter the treeline of our denser forests in Sweden at these conditions. The reason i would choose the Opsin over an analog is for the future apps that may add som added value in the future (if it ever gets released). Regarding the Aurora pro and the Opsin thats another story. They have very different applications. The Opsin lack alot of dedicated camera functions the Aurora have but the lag during shooting is alot worse on the Aurora. If youre happy using the Aurora i see no reason to change to the Opsin.

    @@VerageAirsoft Yeah, one thing that many people doesnt think about regarding snipers is the fact that even if they dont hit the first time they can on the follow up shot. So you might not even have to get a killshot every time as long as you slow down the offense. I managed to scare some people from attacking wich gave our forces time to regroup. Even though that doesnt translate into a fansy Novritsch hitcompilation-video, it still helps the team. I also have plans of fabricating a custom cylinder to add volume to the build. This will probably give me more range and probably help me at the 100m range shots. But as i see it, it still doesnt matter. Im first and foremost a airsoft organizer and second a player. Just meeting people and having a nice time is enough for me. I also saw alot of frustration and arguing between people who took everything to serious. That is just unnecessary. I see you figured out the 980nm diode trick. However, a 980 laser diode is much cheaper and more efficient. To avoid gen 3 seeing you, use the laser diode without a focus lens, so it is a left-right stripe of IR. Point the IR stripe higher or lower than the gen 3 user. Then it is reflected IR light that the gen 3 cannot see. I measured gen 3 as about 20x the sensitivity of the Opsin at 30 fps for green thru ~880 nm. However, by 980 nm, the Gen 3 is about 1/70th of the sensitivity of Opsin. Tip: turn the Opsin EV to -2.5 always. You don't lose sensitivity, but you don't get highlight washout. Also, do NOT leave the battery pack plugged in. It draws ~6.5 milliamps even when off.

    Yes, if you watch the "subtitles" you will notice there are two different types of lights used. A 980nm ang and a "prototype". The prototype is a laserbased flashlight thats using a lens to spread the beam. The reason i didnt mention this was that im afraid people will start building these laserversions and do something wrong. They could possibly hurt someones eyes with dangerous laserlight if they dont build it the right way. But thanks for all the tips!, You seem to be the same type of person that i am since you like doing tests and figuring things out. Thanks for watching!

    @mattiasolsson1766 Жыл бұрын

    Yes there are many sections of this video and my other videos showing that. However in extreme low light like in the video there isnt many colours to pick up from the sensor. Also using IR only give you one colour because that is simply how the lightspectrum works. The Opsin seem to autoadjust its colour to make the picture less grainy and thats probably the reason it seems grayscale even if its colourmode. If you check in the end when using the red laser you see it as red in the Opsin meanwhile the background is greyish. Check at 7.45m into the video.

    Good job of conveying the difference in low light conditions. All the other videos out there are shot with a full moon. I also like how you stipulate that shooting video of gen 3 with a camera phone doesn't do it justice (it really doesnt)doesn't. Opsin is far too pricey for the performance you get.

    Thanks, regarding price. That depends on what your looking for. Most analog users only care for low light sensitivity (nothing wrong with that). This unit have alot of extra functions and colour and probably AR functions soon. If youre a tech nerd like me then this unit make more sense

    Who makes the best gen 3 night vision for under $2200 for single tube 🤔?

  • @poortac5568
    @poortac5568 Жыл бұрын

    Night Vision Guys have the best spec WP pvs14 for the price right now assuming you dont need/want L3 tubes. They are around $2800 right now. Which for the specs (Elbit tubes, high SNR, FOM, etc), is an absolute steal. Around $2200 you are stuck with low/unknown spec green gen 3 tubes from places like Optics Planet. They work, but the extra $500 is well worth it. It has been worth every penny. I just did a review of them if you are interested.

  • @mattiasolsson1766

    @@thewokjohnson7295 regarding shooting with red dot i do that in my latest video. No problem using it with red dot. I haven't tested using the Opsin when driving since its probably both dangerous and illegal in Sweden. But regarding lag it would probably be possible to drive using it. But whenever someone points a flashlight towards you the camera sensor will adapt its exposure and that could make you loose track of the road in low light situations. In short i would only drive using it in the most optimal of conditions.

    Love seeing digital catching up to Analog, especially for the price the opsin comes in at, with on board recording compared to having to buy a seperate recording unit for intesifier tubes.

  • @cynstan
    @cynstan Жыл бұрын

    wearing it makes you feel like youre drunk and disoriented. I would NEVER want it during an actual op. The latency will almost always derail the digital option. It requires the shutter to be open for X amount of time while the phosphorous tubes transmit at the speed of light.

    The viewfinder can be adjusted to adapt to your eye. In the lowest setting the gen 3 will have problems picking up any glare from the Opsin. Atleast from the front. The Aurora is however very visible since its viewfinder produce alot of light.
