Amplitube and Tonex I see absolutely no reason for a hardware based unit, when latency is so low its undetectable by the human ear now. All you need is what you are probably going to ise this with. A laptop, and an interface. If you dont play out. You dont need an amp at all anymore. Want bass amps and DI chains.. Its all right there, in Amplitube and Tonex..

I have a question Dan. Ive been playing Bass for almost 2 years. That first song you played, and the tone. For some reason your tone sounds much different than mines. Could it be the amp im using? Im using a Bugera 15" combo amp. I'm trying to get that same tone. To me it reminds me of the music man stingray tone. Could it be my tone settings?

This is great and super helpful- i have the HP Forte and a REFII12 and 15 for when i need an amp, also have several pre-amp pedals for when I am ampless but have just ordered a SuperPre. I've never before managed to get a perfect DI pedal- the Nordstrand Starlifter is superb but too clean and has a stupid 15v AC power supply which i can never find. The JHS ColourBox is ok but not great. I like my EBS Stanley Clark for acoustic but not ideal for electric bass. As always, if you buy Bergantino it ends all other need for other gear. It's just the best and works out cheaper in the long run.

There is the EQ section as a way that lower and higher mids can be changed while using the drive section. So it is possible, as long as you’re not using amp modeling and don’t mind it also modifying your clean tone mids if switching mid song.

I have 4 Sire basses, P8,M2,U5 and a V5-24 and I have to say I really enjoy my V5-24 the most. something about the feel and balance of it. I personally like the passive basses more than my active basses, I think the simplicity of it and they have great sound without a pre-amp. when I'm feeling fatigued then I grab my U5 short scale. the Necks on Sire basses are fantastic, Sire make great instruments.

After 45 years as a FOH sound engineer I hope for two things with bass guitars. #1 A very deep fat bass response especially in the 40 and 60Hz frequencies. #2 Uniformally equal decibel levels on every single notes on the neck. Too many times I have mixed inferior bass guitars that forced me to apply heavy compression and voicing with an EQ. The Sire delivers outstanding performance that rivals $5,000 cutom built basses I have mixed. Even the $400 Sire bass sounds incredible.

A huge problem with Class D amp heads is the lack of a way to replace the power module, and the lack of a way to easily remove the tubes for testing and replacement. When the power system goes belly up, you throw away the head. And if you have to eviscerate the amp to work with the tubes, that is a pain in the ass. Frankly, I should be able to unplug and remove the Class D power board and buy a replacement online. Same with tubes!
@BassGearMagazineАй бұрын
The tubes are easily replaced/swapped, but replacing a power module would require a trained tech (and preferably the manufacturer).

@@57precision Proper Barts are excellent pickups, the licensed Mk and BH are poor though. Not sure why Cort use them other than a cheap way to get brand name spec on a bass, they should put the CND pickups on them really and ditch the in house Barts which are always underwhelming. The MB preamp is doing all the legwork here.
