how do u click bones in weight paint mode
The mesh needs to be bound to the armature though. Then you select the right, shift+select the mesh and go to weight paint mode. To select the bones you can ctrl+click up to blender 3.6. From 4.0 it's alt+click or ctrl+shift+click.
When I do this I just get the model and the curves for the rig but the rigg doesn’t work. It’s just all one curve that won’t select
No idea based on what you said. You sound new to Blender. Take it slow and learn the basics.

Do you need to create separate collections while manual exporting files?
Not necessarily. You can control what is exported through the FBX options.

Thank you so much, i was looking for this for ages! It works with almost evey model but sometimes i get the bone heating error. I tried to fix it like you showed in your "Bone Heat SOLVED" vid but it somehow messes up the unreal root skeleton. Do you have a tutorial for that as well? Thanks a lot for tutorial videos, they are the best :)
Does the bird armature works for Dragon ? Dragon with wings and legs and arms..?
Depends on the wings. Some wings which are more bat-like may be easier to rig with an arm "limb" with fingers serving as the appendages between the membranes.
There is no six legged mesh to practice
My files from apps is different formats (not txt, but fbx, not cvs, but json in case of Live Link). What do I do wrong and how i can fix it?
I'm using Auto Rig Pro and I also have the paid Voxel Heat Skinning addon. Now, I want to skin my ARP armature using the Voxel addon but I want to use the Surface Heat Diffuse method (through ARP) not the Voxel Heat Diffuse method, is there a way we can force the Surface method through ARP? Thank you in advance.
I don't think so. You could ask the ARP developer to consider including it. However ARP does some tricks to make the default Automatic Weights work more reliably so you may not need surface heat.

Thank you for the tutorial, I quite understand Accurig by the way, I want to ask how to compress the FBX file so that the size is smaller because I can't add it because the file is bigger. I've tried online but it still can't help me.😢
The main thing should be the number of polygons. Try exporting without embeded textures too.
Alt clicking the bones to move them around in weight paint mode is a huge help. Thank you.
I've tried every method and nothing works... I even bought the add-on but my blender freezes whenever I try to voxel heat diffuse. I dont know what to do :( My mesh has some shape keys, does that effect anything ? But even when i deleted my shape keys it didnt work. My normals are fine, my mesh has good topology and no loose verticies. However when I go to select->select non manifold, i get one loop around the eye which is a non manifold. Do you have any idea what else I can do ?
Envelope has a really nice usecase: It works even with shit geometry ( double vertecies etc) Why would you ever need it? You have a model and it can not change and "fixing" the model would destory the shading somehow. Envelope still does 90% of work and you can tweak rest with weight painting. But with automatic you wont even be able to parent the mesh it will give a error. Good to know :D
Great addon but as soon as a rig has FK and IK working at the same time things go to hell. No to say this is a problem with the addon, but just something for people to keep in mind so they don't pull their hair out thinking it's the addon like I did.
I don't understand. What goes to hell with IK/FK?

32:23 I checked the Box "Topology Mirror" and it worked for painting symmetrically.
Great. "Topology Mirror" can be a bit unreliable so I don't mention it in beginner's tutorials.
@@CGDive oh, I guess it worked because I did a manual retopology using the mirror modifier before riging.
the method is good but there is a flaw in your method to add extra rotation, first making child of the mhc bone directly in the edit mode can ruin the hierarchy of bones, second when rotating the spine it over rotates, to fix you want to add the damped constraint to the mhc bone and then copy rotation set to before original, this way it doesn't overshoot and doesn't ruin the hierarchy.
Whyyy thoo, Rigging is one of the most important steps in animation. You don't want to do a half-assed job, or it will bite you in the animation stage

Is there any way to regenerate while maintaining the drivers I worked on the rig generate by rigify? if I regenerate, previous driver all gone
I feel like most creators just review tools on a very shallow surface level, just regurgitating the talking points that are written in the addon page with no additional research, in an attempt to make as many videos as possible and go for quantity over quality. You're the only one that actually goes through the effort of using the tools you're advertising and testing them on real usecases, I really appreciate your channel because of that. I came thinking that this addon was completely useless, i still think that the simulation is a bit of a gimmick, but now that you've showed the skirt, I'm thinking that the "edge to bones" might be fairly useful to me.

Agreed. There are some category of addons that really need a comprehensive comparison as well. Most categories. At regular intervals. Addon “reviews” are mostly people just using the video as an excuse to post an affiliate link. Made of promotional sizzle reels, the ones with generated voices and script are annoying bottom feeder noise .
Thank you for this awesome addon. I am facing a issue, When I parent the rig to the character using automatic weight paint the mesh gets deformed very badly. do you have any solution for it ? trying to fix that issue for days now.

I don't think they are. They are just meshes in your Blend file once you download them. So save your Blend file.

I wish I could but I am using a premade platform and the subscription is based on Stripe (credit card only) whereas individual purchases are done through PayPal (which also allows credit card payments). at 12:27 you hold control to affect the other side. thats not working for my rig. did this change in 4.0? i can still right click and apply flipped pose that way but holding control doesnt work
Ah, yeah. It doesn't work here either. I will investigate.
Apparently it is a known bug and it was fixed so it will appear in the next corrective release, I guess.

Why doesn't my character run in the blender after doing accurig to mixamo, even though in mixamo the character moves but after being put into the blender the character does not move
