I'm using a Victory 300 spine Vap TKO at 29 inches with a 50 grain inside outsert with a 100 grain Montec fixed blade with three degree left helical AAE Max stealth three vane set up with a four inch Bohning wrap and a Nocturnal lighted nock and I'm just over 530 grains total weight shooting a PSE Fortis 33 set at 30 inch draw and 71 pounds draw weight at 80% let off . I'm getting full pass throughs without any issues. I even blew through a bucks shoulder blade at thirty four yards again with full pass through . The arrow system I'm using is super accurate and hits exactly the same spot as a field point . My only gripe is it is a very expensive set up 🤑! I've been bow hunting since I was 14 years old and I'm 50 now and I can't believe how expensive the cost of arrows and broadheads have gotten. I guestimate my hunting arrows cost about $60.00 a piece so I make sure those shots count 😳. Best of luck to everyone out there this coming season 🙏

The other videos I watched on this subject were useful too; but this one was clear and concise and answered what I was looking for. Helped make it easy setting up my first rear bar. I had a 10” all alone on the front before, now I’ve got a 14” with 2oz out front and that 10” with 6oz on the back. Levels easy and I’m confident it’ll be a score booster for 3d shoots. Hunting I may slim it back down since I l won’t be taking shots as long at live targets.

I'll pay top dollar for a release because in my opinion, it's the most important component you can buy for a bow as it's a safety issue if faulty. That said, I didn't expect it to be much better than other releases out there. I stand corrected. It's worth every penny. Draw without any worry of misfire and once you're ready to shoot, you'll find the smoothest, most satisfying mechanism you can imagine. The only thing is get a medium even if you're a big guy. The large is way too big, had to exchange

Elk Shape, what is your standard for determining how often you post shorts vs full length, if you have one? And do you think the shorts help grow your channel the same as full length content?

Nice, when I first started shooting archery, it was all instinctive shooting from age 10 till about 16 when we used to do bow shoots every Sunday threw spring and summer in Maine. How my dad taught me and at the time he was number 1 in the state for instinctive shooters. This was back in the early 80s. With fingers, no release. I didn't start shooting with a sight till I was in my mid-20s, when I picked up a bow again after 10 years. Was alot of fun.

I pull 80#, 31” draw…. Been shooting 575ish grains for years….. blow through everything I hit….. but Josh is right….. you’re simply not going through an elk’s shoulder….. even with a good fixed… don’t ask me how I know…😢 Building a new set up now and dropping arrow weight to around 475-490 grains for flatter trajectory. Josh is right on all accounts… better to have to an arrow get there quicker…. Don’t ask me how I know….😢
