I happen to be playing Roulette at the Hard Rock in Vegas early 2000’s. Who comes and sets next to me to play ? Yup, Ellen. Luck was Not on her side, as it typically is on no one’s side especially in Roulette. Every single loss resulted in her berating the dealer until after about 45 min of slams over and over the dealer finally refused to allow her to play. She took the remaining one dollar chips and threw them SHE THREW THEM, at the dealer and was promptly escorted out. I couldn’t believe it. I knew she was always a bit mentally unstable but to attack innocent individuals she has never met….? Unbelievable.

Never before have I seen someone manage to insult one person and infantilize another in a single sentence, but he was doing so repeatedly while lecturing Ethan on dealing with Trisha the wrong way because of her BPD. BPD does make things difficult, but it doesn't make them *impossible.* Trisha is capable of reasoning. She's capable of taking a step back and recognizing she is splitting and communicating that to Ethan that she needs reassurance they're still good. It's possible she needed to be taught how, in which case she deserves a little leeway, but regardless it just goes to show Dr Drew had absolutely no business talking about mental health. Not only was she not held accountable, the right to be held accountable was ripped away from her like she's some incompetent little baby who doesn't know any better.
