Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to The Right Opinion, the home of a twat with too much free time, and the past, it’s a strange thing, and one that, in times like these, we probably long for more than ever.
Although I do relate to this sentiment, more than you can possibly know, I likely wouldn’t take anyone other than the person that I am today, minus the chronic health issues of course. Yes, if we can transpose the current version of ourselves to past scenarios, then that’s the choice that many would probably take, it would have likely saved me, and others, from unnecessary disputes and distress, however, at the same time, without many of those past scenarios, we probably wouldn’t be where we are today. In many ways, it’s a paradoxical conundrum, and the best you can do is be thankful for your present wisdom.
As internet dwellers we tend not to talk about our possibly tainted backstories too much, because other people have a nature to be quite judgemental, and if that’s not who we are today, then what right do people really have to know. However, it’s almost always important we keep the past in mind, because if not, we may be destined to repeat it, and for many people that’s the last thing we want. With this said, there are some who will repeat it regardless, whether they know it’s wrong or not, and for those individuals, well, we may have to be a bit more vocal in how we reprimand them. This is especially true if those individuals hold a relative amount of influence as say, I don’t know, a KZreadr, with dedicated fans, probably serving as a role model to a fair proportion of them. What about when said drama involves your followers? Well then, let’s discuss today’s topic…
Gamers unite, yes, we are once more heading back to that corner of KZread to set the backdrop for today’s discourse, and we’ll begin by talking about one of the titans of the gaming community, Vanoss.
Evan Fong, also known as VanossGaming, is a creator who posts montage-style content of him and his friends playing a variety of video games, on paper, it sounds fairly unexceptional, but the editing, and interplay between Fong and his comrades has garnered widespread attention from viewers, establishing his channel as a cornerstone in the KZread gaming subculture that has flourished in the past decade. On his channel, he would feature a retinue of creators who would aid that back-and-forth energy that buoyed his content, this roster would evolve over the years, but one individual who became a pretty regular fixture on the channel during the mid 2010s was a gentleman by the name of Mini Ladd.

EDITING CREDITS/REFERENCES BELOW: Small error at 46:43 where Mini's apology Tweet was meant to appear but was lost in the render :( Thank you for patiently awaiting my return, I can’t guarantee uploads will be regular but I’m working on it. There are a couple audio issues with recordings as I was switching rigs which may have caused a bit of background noise, but I should have fixed it now. Otherwise, have a nice day, and I’m gonna head back into the abyss. "Kiddie fiddler" 16 and 17y olds that are able do professional job being discord admins and depending on country and state able drive, have sex legally and be prosecuted in court as adults. Given already mentioned wide range of age of consent where that age range is on upper end and having seen how youth acts amongst them selfs acting often more mature than 25y olds, i dont think this get anywhere near pedo territory. How about treating people and checking how developed they are as individuals, instead of grouping them and going with lowest common denominator? Same with perp in question, lookin into context. In minis case sure i agree his manipulative sociopath, but his arguments are rather solid and i dont see issue with the relationship on it self, other than famous vs fan dynamic.

He did the exact same thing during the drama with Terroriser, as soon as he took it to the DMs, his next video came out where he just straight up lied "Oh yeah, Brian and I are talking and fixing things up and it's really nice to be friends with him again!" Only for the next Terroriser stream for him to go is just "Yeah, no. We aren't talking whatsoever, I think he just says things to get his audience off his back." Which is really damn accurate to what he has been known to do, I mean clearly he was pissed about being known as part of the Vanoss crew but kept walking it back each and every time. Even nowadays, I'm certain he actively moderates his comment section to remove any mention of what he did. Only thing that remains are people saying he did something or sociopaths not caring a pedophile is cultivating a group of children to idolize him.

I remember reading that a large portion of people who are convicted of sexual crimes against minors aren't "pedophiles", as in people who are primarily or solely attracted to children, but are people who take advantage of the inherent power dynamic between an adult and minor for their own gratification. Given his other accusations of abuse and manipulation, that's definitely Craig's category. He isn't a creep who stalks playgrounds offering candy, but a narcissist who views women of any age as fuel for his own indulgence and ego. To me, that is even more sinister, as even an outright, clinically diagnosed pedophile can know that acting on their attraction is wrong and abusive and can stop themselves from harming others. But Craig can and will not, as he views his actions as passable. I do want him to _actually_ seek help so that others aren't harmed, but I also want him to never be able to sweep this under the rug.

funny. i’ve always read that pedophilia, like rape, is a paraphilia which relies upon power. every pedophile takes sexual gratification out of the power they have over a child. I was groomed, and the pedo took gratification over the power he had as an adult. i would argue it is craig’s category given that’s the entire basis on which pedophilia lies upon.

Ok, so this case kinda hit too close to home, in that it’s uncomfortably similar to two of my own personal hardships. I’ve been subjected to guilt tripping manipulation for a romantic relationship. I’ve also dealt with my own personal turmoil involving someone I deeply cared and their involvement in inappropriate behavior (to say the least) towards a stranger. They even had enough... _despair_ in their condition that I saw some parallels to (Strange)LittleMan’s cases, and especially those who cared about him despite his earlier behavior. The emotions that came up were kind of distressing. Ok whatever, here’s what I actually wanted to say regarding LittleMan: The apology at the end, the one that was actually entertained in the video had this instance from LittleMan that I really disliked, and it was when he admitted to preying on the girls because he “is serious about his upcoming suicide” (or whatever the exact quote is I’m not watching it again it kinda hurt me too much LOL) But the way he revealed that information, if we were to trust its validity, ticked me off a bit. When you are a person who is hurting, and you hurt someone, obviously you don’t say, “I hurt you because I’m in pain.” It was the second time where he tried to play it off as genuine, where he sort of doubles down and asserts that “I was in pain, it was true” that was rather vile. If in his position, for a sincere sounding apology, one does not say ‘oh yeah it’s true I did it because I was actually suicidal. It’s no excuse.’ Because it STILL immediately brings attention away from the victims. The words themselves could be fact and not manipulation, as ML said, but now the apology feels like it was made so the perpetrator would get closure, with the victims being second. If I were in his situation and I wanted to actually convince my audience that I felt genuinely sorry, I would’ve said something like “I am truly sorry for allowing my pain and desperation to bleed into your life in the form of such despicable manipulation.” Obviously that’s still pretty insufficient, but the key is that it didn’t fucking matter whether or not his pain is real, because the damage would be the same either way. Saying something like “allowing” gives a greater sense of responsibility than explaining what led to such a warped mindset. But if he seriously wanted to include information that would shed light in his reasoning/motivation for honesty’s sake, as opposed to defecting blame - which he even said that was what he was trying to do - following something like my example would’ve at least conveyed all the info without the theatrics. The fact he still added that ‘I’m serious guys!’ tidbit was so revolting sneaky, it left me feeling in my stomach that he really wasn’t sorry. The whole video continued and there we were; he never changed. Apologies if this comment was a waste to read, but I’m kind of upset about how tiny but still grossly deceptive it was.

Then I found out about how mini ladd was connected to them, which was wild to me because I knew of the drama before I knew of the backstory. Then I heard about how mini tried to make Brian look bad by shitting on him and excluding him from the group during one of the few times Brian was in the US. And you could tell Brian was hurt because he wanted to have a nice dinner with friends he had known for years but were separated by distance, and Craig took that away from him because Craig was petty. And Brian even approached him at like an after party and was like "talk to me directly if you have a problem with me, not behind my back to OUR friends". I gained so much respect for Brian after hearing his side of the story. And just seeing him handle the drama in general, like saying Craig left the group of his own accord and talked shit about his friends unprovoked so thats why he doesn't get invited to game sessions. Despite Craigs manipulation, Brian always stuck to the simple truth that wasn't destructive or harsh to Craig and his character. Craigs response showed us who he really is, and Brian let that happened because he knew shitty people will reveal their own shitty behavior in time. I have mad respect for Brian, and he seems like a true friend. I hope his current friends keep him around, because he is a rare one

love the detail, and the different variety of edits to this. The different styles from your group of editors made the video an interesting one to watch, and overall the depth of the content, this video had popped up in my recommended feed and I'm glad i clicked on it. It gave me a better understanding of the situation as i only got bits an pieces of the stories when they were first brought up on other outlets and didn't see the other aspects to his downfall makes the whole picture more clear. I will say i couldn't watch the video in one sitting but it was more enjoyable as i watched a few segments here and there over the span of a few days to let details of certain sections sink into the mind better and to be able to see where the manipulation is visible in his wording his actions, and behavior. the last apology he makes for an upload in this video does seem like its an honest one and finally a ****ing wake up call that he needs to really get a hold of himself better, but he dug himself a real deep hole, and it will be interesting to see him so be it truly redeem himself, if he can. It would be interesting to see an update video to this and to see what the community think of him as this year being 2022 brings, and what the other years will bring, does he go the route of keeping true for redemption and stay on track or does he go the route for a bit and just dig himself back into another trench if he lets the persona of "Mini Ladd" take over again. He just needs to be Craig and Remain Craig and be honest with himself and the community

To every teenager out there who has someone older they look up to: Adults should not rely on you for emotional support. It's not okay to use the excuse of friendship and someone's genuine care to unload a bunch of mental health stuff that should be taken care of by a therapist. Someone unloading their mental health struggles onto you when you don't know how to handle that and making you feel 'special' for only sharing it with you is unfair and unhealthy at best and straight up predatory at worst. Especially with creators who interact with their fanbase a lot, creating an inner circle of fans can only work if the creator is very aware of how there's a power imbalance between them and their fans. This sounds very abstract, but 'power' in this case means: The creator is the popular 'kid' who everyone wants to be around. on a social level, their attention, their friendship, has a lot of value to fans- much more than the fans' friendship has to them. So a fan will be much more vulnerable to being coerced into doing something like providing excessive emotional support they're not comfortable or equipped to deal with. Because they want to please the creator and want to keep being close to them, they might not even realize they're being used for someone else's emotional or sexual gratification until they're adults themselves. If you dabble in modding a discord or twitch chat for a creator or you know someone, keep an eye out for yourself and others. Good, responsible creators keep respectful boundaries with fans and are careful not to take advantage, especially in their treatment of young fans. It can be incredibly draining and scary, to the point of straight up traumatizing, to feel like you're responsible of taking care of someone's mental health and constantly have to give them emotional support just to be deserving of their attention and friendship. It's an incredibly toxic and unhealthy dynamic and is sadly something that happens way too often.

Some people don’t have or can’t afford therapists. Some people have friends that say they’re perfectly okay with just sitting and listening. Friends talk about shit that’s going on in their lives (good or bad) and people with mental health issues tend to have problems relating to those issues. It’s a different story if the only time you’re contacting people is when you want to talk about your mental health struggles but just venting to a friend every now and then is a completely natural and normal thing to do. @@ellielikesthings I agree with your point if it's regarding regular friendships, but in my comment am *specifically* talking about adults going to teenagers and *kids* and making their mental health struggles someone else's responsibility to take care of. I'm not advocating against being open about mental health to friends. But an adult should not rely on emotional and mental health support specifically from minors. They should seek that support from friends their own age or older than them, because another *adult* will have more emotional maturity and experience to talk about these issues.

There's a difference between two people who are of similar age talking about struggling with mental health while not making it the sole basis of their friendship versus someone constantly relying on someone else for emotional support they're not equipped to provide. It's not the friend's fault if the adult can't afford a therapist and they are not a viable alternative for actual mental health care.

At the time all of this happened, if my memory serves right, I was either a year younger or a year older than miniladd and going through my own set of mental health struggles. I felt so comforted and inspired by what he and a lot of his old group did with their platforms, and I admired mini in particular for his perceived openness about mental health. When this all came to the surface, it just...broke my heart. Like many others, having a history with sexual exploitation and abuse made it hit a particularly sensitive spot, and it made me sick. I couldn't watch any of the old group anymore because anytime his voice would come up in videos, it just hurt. I hope someday he can take full accountability for what he's done, and offer a genuine and full apology, but sadly I don't expect that to happen and won't be holding my breath.

This video may be old but in hindsight there were redflags about Mini Ladd from the start. Last year Nogla talked about how Mini Ladd joined the group in a video from his react channel with Terroriser (I think the video is titled "tiktok memes that exposes us..."). According to Nogla, back in 2011-2012 when everyone had really small channels and the "Vanoss crew" wasn't even a thing, Nogla and Mini Ladd met each other online but they were both in their own separate groups. Nogla was with Lui Caliber, Droid, and Ve1ocity HD (I may be forgetting others), while Mini Ladd was in his own group. Apperantly, there was some huge drama/altercation in Mini Ladd's group that led to Mini Ladd being kicked out. After that Nogla offered him a spot in his group. I think that everyone at some point has been in a friend group (online or irl) that was separated due to drama, but when there's toxicity in every friend group you're in and it always involves you (like Mini Ladd)... you might be the problem. Imo, I think it has everything to do with Mini Ladd being a narcisist, he doesn't seem to like it when he's not the one in control or the center of attention
