Vintage TV footage for background on the artist who has become rock's unrelenting rebel. Here are all the raw passions and unpredictability that put the American experience in focus, rock and roll in its place, and John Cougar Mellencamp on top.
He is a liar, cheat and all around piece of crap to his audience. All dog go to heaven & all cheaters & liars go to HELL where they belong. I will NEVER forgive him for his piss-poor concert(ha a concert--really) in Toledo Ohio on March 17, 2024. A real P.O.S. in my eyes! 😡

This is another episode of bad lip syncing and bad pantomime. I can only imagine that when they were told they’d be faking the entire thing they said, “you know what would be funny? Let’s use a mandolin and acoustic guitar to mimic the electric guitar parts. It’ll make all of us look stupid!”

Funny, I’ve known and played with so many who are better singers, writers, and performers than Cougar. Yet he gave up his glam rock imagine, traded it in for America and spoon fed it to our simple minded. He’s like the Keanu Reeves of R&R.

It would be nice if Mellencamp could just sing his songs during a concert and not spew his bullcrap politics to the crowd. We go to a show to get away from that kind of crap.

The Beatles were forced to do these TV lyp-sync's too, but at least the boys insisted to allow the hysterical fans in Audience to listen to them playing live in the studios, regardless of whatever broadcasted. But i believe it wasn't out of respect but serious fears they would tear apart the place in stampede if they didn't get at least to hear them once in there. Real Music not just to R&R but to tame the wild frenzy Beatles or rather, Beatlemanias caused. Which it was a huge part of what they stopped playing live concerts, because like in their last appearance at the Hollywood bowl, George stated they couldn't even hear their own voices or instruments so loud levels the waves of screaming girls around the stadium, drowned the strongest loudspeakers
