John, I doubt you’ll ever see this but what an amazing start. You took a tragic tale & unlike how JP smiled throughout his retelling of the story, you repackaged it in such a way that if a person may not have listened closely before, they sure would after hearing you. I’d love to hear it in tribute because it’s a unique choice but more so bc of what you bring. This is so awesome because it’s riddled with such intimacy, honesty & humor. You said you’ve got 50k more JP stories. I’d give anything to just listen for a solid week bc I’m finally starting to get so many punchlines. I’ve pieced so much together that I began to suspect a conspiracy of sorts. Then while watching The House of Strombo a couple of days ago. He said he’d hang onto a new song to savor it for a week or a month. He’d walk around knowing he was the only person with a clue what he was holding. I get that satisfaction as there isn’t anything for me quite as exquisite as that feeling of bittersweet or painfully pleasurable delayed gratification. He immediately added that what’s so neat is how so many fans are starting to get the joke & the punchline, literally spanning decades. That’s so special. I doubt he had a plan but once he told the world about the Happy Enchilada- it’s been like a slow yet sweet unraveling or like a gift that TRULY keeps on giving.
