Its mellencamp.. bro 40 years ago cigarettes used to be "healthy". Just because yall were ignorant and naive af forty years ago doesnt mean it was a better world for it.. Great arrangement with the dual guitars here. A lot less slick than the album version, but in a good way. John was absolutely trying to shed his label's intended "Neil Diamond" image and it was beginning to pay off.

It's just a cyclical thing where music mimics what is happening in given economies, the next stage possibly is new wave and /or grunge sound again, or even boy and lady bands. As Neil Young put it, "round and round", hmm. I think less pretense the better, his first album by far was his 👌 👍 😍
