Probably because there is less band here and a completely different background gal ( which does not compliment his voice at all btw)
Nothing like John's flinty, soulful voice. An absolute favorite song.

This bubble gum rock song which I referred to it as back when it first came out. I loved it in my early 20s and still digging it now. Even with out the Pink Suits. John Cougar always rocks.😅 .Who doesn't love Mellencamp? Dude's too Cool!
This song brings back the best memories for me & my husband. This song was playing on the radio during one of our very first dates about 43-44 years ago. 😍

Don't be sad. Getting old is part of life, and nobody here is getting out alive. I was 10 in 1982. Hearing and seeing musicians performing their songs with the wisdom and experience earned with age is a sublime joy.
As a High schooler saw John perform this on the Grammy’s ..??..asking Who is this guy?...😂😂

It's not the voice, it's the lungs and breathing, he must have emphysema by now or COPD 🙁 both terrible. I ❤ John and his music so hearing him like this is no fun
