Bla bla bla bla bla !!!
Two words, Annular cutter.
Could you please share again what would be your recommended size for the plate?
Are you sure this was just 1/4 thick? Looks so thick :)
I have that cart under my laser. If I touch the cart, it moves and wrecks my project. Now I'm looking at putting blocks under the cart to stabilize it. A two wheeled cart seems better, but I committed already.
Is from this game ATV Offroad Fury 2
I totally dig the effort, I too build as much as I can, that’s a table you would never part with, it’s personal. However, understanding the value in a bought table is apparent after seeing your effort. Good stuff!
I think Id just buy the Fireball tool Dragon wagon. This is too much work.
So helpful if you link where you bought things.
I’d like to see how the clamps work in the holes, is there a video on them? What are they called?
Welding table clamps or fixture clamps got to strong hand tools
This is amazing. Can you help me find the fume extractor and the black piece that connects to it?
Search eBay for omtech fume extractor
I didnt go near as extravagant. I just drilled 4 dowel centering holes in the original plates.
great vid! im looking to get that exact same laser can you make a review please?!(:
Don’t buy this one😂
Sensacional!! Parabéns 🤜🤛🇧🇷
Appreciate how u focus on what makes you happy!
This is two years old so I'm fairly sure someone has said this already but, an annular cutter would have cut hours out of this job.
Yah you could say that😂
I just went to NUB tools and nothing found under the 20 ton press page. Disappointing
I’ve discontinued the product line.
Excellent build. I seen spot welds done by both MIG and TIG tons of times but this was the best result yet. Have you thought about grinding a small notch on the rim of the cup for spot welding? May help hot gasses escape or maybe not a good idea? I seen your settings listed but what diameter electrode and how was it prepared (blunt, pointed etc)? Greatly appreciate any feedback!!!!. Cheers
Thanks? 3/32”, pointed.
@@nubtools Thank you sir!!
What? no God awful music? Much prefer without. Excellent work!!!!
Thanks Joe! For the most part no music but you will find some in a few videos😬
You have some impressive skills and tools in your shop!!!
Thanks Rick!
Cool ! I enjoyed that . Thanks . 👊🏼🔥
I can't find this valve spring compressor in stock anywhere.
Email [email protected] for availability info.
I love your tool room lathe . :)
Me too.
Well, you don't have to use it, you can always take it to the trade shows, car shows or something . lol
Hahahah
Very nice work! I am looking at doing the same thing and have a few questions. Did you go with removable bushings over press fit to save money? I can see having to switch out the bushing between holes adding a lot of time. Did you use bushings 3/4" long or less to create chip clearance? Was there a reason you used a drill bit and reamer over a annual cutter? Thank you for your time
Thanks! Cost and function drove my decision of which it’s been so long I don’t remember.😂
What he did was a waist of time. That mag base drill has HSS drill bits that cut out perfect holes. They cut the out side diameter and leave behind a center slub the spring pushes oh after the cut.
😍
Send Camp Italy and england so much Build Cars fomula so table strongs , themes top gear so table top again 😊
as i saw your set up i knew you were a dirty Tigger LOL. Nice set up bro.
Did i see right that you tig welded without a gaslens at the beginning? Never thoght of trying that:) Nice job on the table!
Always with gas
use a magnet. no drill no thrill
what a waste of a good peace of iron
That is a lot of work, Impressive. When you get 1st dent going to be tough. 2nd one not so bad.
Exactly
@@nubtools Watched Fireball make a table to .003" across it. The Music wire trick to leveling was Simple and Impressive.
Very nice. Oddly, my HF 20 ton press stud is 1.915” diameter. I decided to leave that and make a removable piece to fit over it out of 2.250” dia 1144. So everything fits on that. Also I get the point of press pins as I’ve done that too. But I found that I needed to use hardened pins for them instead of just machining the ends down as that tends to mushroom too easily. So I just pressed the pins into the pieces that fit in the end of the adapter I made. Nice handle holder. I didn’t think of making it that way. Instead, I welded two 0.750 x 1” tabs onto the bottom edge of the beam and put thin rubber there for the long and short handles. I like that bottom tray. I never go down that far with the press, so I’m thinking of making one for the fingers of my SwagoffRoad finger break. I never know where to put these things.
😎
Cooool just bought this same cart for my fiber laser, I was a bit worried the power unit wouldn't fit below, but with the drawer out it can slide right in! I might have to borrow some of your ideas
Cool! Glad this helped
Great job, and great video!👍🏻
Thanks!
I really want a table like this, but first i gonna build myself a cnc machine to do that for me. I am lazy.
Good plan
Very nice, great job!👍🏻
Nice job what’s the price on that tool cabinet approximately for them to make that?
It was about 1k if I remember correctly
Kool shop. Nice to see a true machinist make one of these. A lot of hacks out there. I’ve been a toolmaker/fabricator for 50+ years. Certainly over kill using a CNC but hey like you said, SATISFACTION. Love the Monarch, one of the best lathes out there. And a nice Doosan lathe. My sons bought my CNC machine shop several years ago. Two years ago they bought one of them. Quite happy with it. Majority of our lathes are Miyano which are very good but DN Solutions (was Doosan and Daewoo prior) are building great machines at reasonable prices. BTW your Tig Is extremely good. Nice video too. In fact I’ll subscribe , nice to watch someone who gets it
Hey thanks!
TIL spot welding with tig is a thing
I would like to try this with an old table saw table. Trying to stay on a budget... I've designed a jig similar to yours, but it's designed to work around the features in the table saw table. But, would it be necessary to ream the holes if I were to use annular cutters?
Try some test pieces and see if you like the holes.
@@nubtools I will certainly do that. I really appreciate your idea for a build like this and the steps you took to maximize the precision.
Why don't you use grounding magnet quick release?
Well then I wouldn’t have had cool parts to make. And the magnet would scratch the paint.
She's a beaut Nub!
Thanks!
Wow, very nice!👍🏻
Thanks!
Need to add file handles to your list😅
Says who?😂
Nice!!!!!
Thanks!
I just finished putting one of these janky assed presses together. After I was done I looked at the debris pile and the last thing left was the handle. I looked at the press, and it seemed like a no brainer, and I wondered why all these intelligent youtube machinists hadn't even thought about it. Then I found out why. You know, if someone had given the build just one more minute , or thought 1 more mile down the road, that GD handle would fit in the unused holes in the side rails. And one more that wouldn't have killed anyone to implement is some holes drilled in the end of the table pins with some keepers so they don't slide out. But before I try it myself, what do you think they're made of, and could they easily be drilled? Great video!
😂Janky is pretty accurate. Especially the welded together models. The bolt together ones are decent like mine but HF has already reverted backwards. The pins are probably a higher carbon steel and should be very drillable, I’d recommend cobalt drills. Good luck!
@@nubtools I'll try picking up some cobalt drill bits and try it, but god help us all, who's gonna have the better bits when all you have to choose from is harbored fright, or the homeless dopes?
Wow, must be nice to have a milling machine to cut everything square attention to detail. I have to admit this is probably one of the absolute cleanest Welding fixture tables
Thanks Steve! Having the mill is a luxury for sure.
Id have some clearance on that plug cos the force probably means that might be difficult to remove
You did a hell of a job. Wow. So basically Fireball Tools copied your idea of the jig. I really like the quality and thoughts they put in their product. On the other hand, I cannot stand they fact that they turned off the comments. Thumbs down Fireball Tools, thumbs up Nub Tools!
Thanks!
