My Welding Table Build | Tool Organization

My welding table build project continues in this fourth episode where I build an additional drawer that is under mounted, fabricated tool racks for welding clamps and fixtures components, and some fancy drawer organization using kaizen foam.

    So epic!! One of the nicest fab tables I've seen built on here. Lots and lots of very well thought out features and very clean work putting it all together. Beautiful end result. I keep most of my TIG torch consumables in Plano 3500 boxes, new electrodes stay in the box and used ones go in colored tubes to keep them sorted.

    Nice job Nub,been waiting for your video. Seriously over the top but gave me ideas for my new weld table. I use a dinse end bolted to my table for a ground then have another female end on a regular ground clamp if I need. Super cool!

    This is so awesome. Only thing I would have done differently is weld the side tool holders on maybe 15-30° angle so the tools are easier to remove with the low vertical clearance. So nice.

  • @nubtools

    @nubtools

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you! I agree that would make access to the tools easier for sure. Since my objective was to nest this table inside my workbench, I put the design constraints on myself to make all tools stay within the 2” tubing legs. If I would have tipped them at an angle many items would be out of the frame, but not all. Thanks for watching!

    New subscriber here. This welding table is beautiful. What are the dimensions? I have limited space in my garage, and this looks like the perfect size. I love how you can sit down and work on small projects comfortably or stand up and use the fixtures. Great job! Keep doing projects and videos like this. Thank you

    I love the build, but just for how I work, I end up getting mad at anything stored near/on the welding table. The problem is if you are doing final fit and you need to grind something down or re-do a weld, you end up getting abrasive dust/shavings on everything near by. If you have great parts that fit together then this is the best solution, but for modding/repairs/etc I find that everything gets disgusting (i.e. if you need to die grind aluminum with a burr, ends up getting oily shavings everywhere, its always tempting to do fitting work on the table since it has all the clamps). When they get into a thread of a clamp or something its very annoying since its all lubricated and basically a dust magnet). I think a four section door over the clamp storage would be nice (the one that folds up sideways when you open it), if its possible to make one out of aluminum (I only ever saw closet doors like this out of plastic, which would undoubtedly end up looking like ass after it gets hit by weld splatter). Or like a garage door that does not roll up but instead is transferred over to the other side (A upside down U shaped cam), so you lift it up and it gets transferred over behind the clamps and then when you pull it down its in front of the clamps, but its always free so you can wipe down both sides, and there is no 'storage' area that gets dirty from accumulating debris), or maybe just like a normal garage door that is stored under the table when in the open position (but this is prone to getting stuck on the clamps, so thats risky).

    Sounds interesting. Although this table will be used in more of a clean way, I do think the drawers will provide ample protection from the majority of debris and dust. But only time will tell. Even if it doesn’t the pros out way the cons for me to have the organization.

    Get rid of the ground clamp altogether and bolt a lug and make it solid... Way better ground. Loose a lot of amps in the poor clamp...
