Most memorable moment? During the bar brawl, when Burt (Nero) best the Mexican guy into submission, had him kneeling before him, only to turn back swiftly and kicked him. In my country the double feature which always packed them in was "Texas, Adios" and "Django". Quentin Tarantino overdid it with both "Hateful 8" and "Django Unchained", two of the worst westerns ever made and I am always taken aback at how Franco Nero allowed himself to be exploited in that cameo where he "met" Jamie Fox at the bar. At times, "know it all Tarantino" tends to be overbearing .

Billy Goldenberg did a wonderful job here. Also check out his "experimental", jarring score for Spielberg's "Duel" where a demented trucker chases Dennis Weaver across the desert.

One of the greatest adventure films of the '30s, '40s and '50s which inspired so many of us to read the original books they were based on or which related the stories, including, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Adventures of Robin Hood, Helen of Troy, Jason and the Argonauts, The Robe, Quo Vadis, Ben Hur. . . . to be a boy again , discovering these stories for the first time !

The movie was on the threashhold of a great adI saw as a kid, but now have a disjointed feel about this movie. I didn't notice as a 10 year old, now I understand the movie critics reviews of recent . Sam Peckinpaugh is overated overall. Robert at 69. The best part of the movie is the music score. Heston here at his lowest moral compass, even lower than John Wayne at his worst.

The music is very dated and yet for some reason it’s still good. No other horror movie sounds like it that’s for sure. It’s hard to do music for horror, William Friedkin went crazy making The Exorcist before he found Tubular Bells.

Another interesting point is that both the raid here and on 633SQN are based on genuine historical WW2 raids.
