Gold (Suite)
A solid entertaining adaptation of Wilbur Smith's novel, This (1974) movie gives Roger Moore one of his better roles outside the Bond franchise. The romantic interest is provided by the gorgeous Susannah York and the villainy is supplied by the very slippery Bradford Dillman. The whole thing is directed with aplomb by veteran director Peter Hunt. Elmer Bernstein delivers one of his trademark scores, with a solid gold vocal by Jimmy Helms on the title track.

A brilliant film, just watched it again, first time in years and in widescreen high definition. The title song is equally just as great - the bitterness and anger Helms injects into the lyrics is all but apparent - suffering for some mineral ore given far more importance than its truly worth...
A soundtrack, and a movie that stays with you eternally!!! Thank You for posting this musical suite!!! and Bless Sir Elmer Bernstein for his phenomenal film score to this movie!!! Gold 1974 Directed by Sir Peter Hunt!!!
love the movie background to this epic music
Rest in peace sir roger the greatest saint and 2nd best bond
They just done things right back in the day, Actors and directors were given more freedom to create, Nowadays there is studio interference and everything is packaged in a very sterile way, perhaps directors like Spielberg, Donner and Michael Mann can make the movies the way they want to make them, but this is very rare, I really like this movie used to see on the box now and again on a Sunday, What a great song from Jimmy helms with the title song, let's see something like that nowadays, R.I.P Roger Moore 1927-2017
I have this score , vinyl, black cover , Gold letters, good score and movie. nice work my friend.

Michael Everson Bradford Dillman was a versatile performer who could deliver on any role as ordered, but he's best remembered as Dirty Harry's nemesis on the SFPD.
One of Roger Moore's better films. Nice opening theme....Great underrated film.

***** Always remember that movie as Kaiser hates Roger Moore, Otto Von Loewenbeck and his Askari soldiers kill his baby and crucifies his black friend, so him and Lee Marvin his once hated father-in-law team up to blow them up.
I think Tom Jones should sing this?
