My personal theory is tha long ago a meteoroid drom deep space that was made of pure gold struck the north pole causing immedate gold pellets to be strewn in the Bering Strait and then causing the entire Arctic sea to freeze and the cause of the ice age . All gold being found in the straigt looks melted and quickly cooled and is in a constant roll from the North .

Some speculate that the hypothesized Planet Nine is actually a primordial black hole, about 5-10 times the Earth's mass. If that's the case, the diameter of the black hole would be about 3-7 inches, depending on the mass. It would be very interesting if that indeed turned out to be the case.

I keep reading about how our telescopes are going to look back at the beginnings of our universe to see the first moments after the big bang. This makes absolutely no sense to me. While I agree that the farther distant we look ...the farther back in time we look because light travels at a set speed so what we see far away is actually in the past for the location we are looking at... assuming a flat 3D universe there is no way we will be able to see the big bang. My reasoning is that light travels a lot faster than matter...thus light from the big bang headed out from the event a lot faster than the matter did and is keeping on going away from us so we can never see it. Only caveat is if our 3D universe is actually finite albeit very large (like a 2D creature not on a flat infinite 2D plane but rather on the surface of a 2D sphere so everything looks infinite in all directions but is actually finite)...in that case as light wraps around and around we may be able to see it and just like that 2D creature on a sphere we should be able to see it in any direction we look (which by the way could also let us discover if indeed the universe is finite and how big it is by seeing the same object with the same appearance in all directions). So my question is: Why do all of the astronomers and scientists think that by building a better telescope that we may be able to see the big bang? Is it the idea of a finite 3D universe or am I missing something?

The models of supernova's show that a star has to go through this boiling bubbling process first before it can explode. The models just don't work to produce a supernova without this happening. Doesn't mean the models are right but that is what they show. There is still a very small risk of a gamma ray burst from a Betelgeuse supernova despite being 650 light years away. It is almost certainly not big enough to produce a gamma ray burst and its explosion poles would have to be pointed directly at Earth but there is still a one in a billion risk. You would have to be in a concrete type basement for a few hours to escape this risk and everyone in your hemisphere would be dead on the streets anyway if it happened and there would be no electronic equipment left intact (including your car and your phone and electricity) so don't worry about it. You don't want to live through a gamma ray burst.

Beetlejuice is approximately 1,500 light years away, the light we are observing left there 1,500 years ago. we are viewing the past with no knowledge of what is going on out there today. It may have had a supernova event that we have not visualized yet.

the sun ( and with it the earth) actually breaks through the glactic disk every ~35 million years. i cant recall the exact distance it moves above/below the main galactic disc, but im sure it was something like 200 lightyears. even now, the sun is 65 lightyears above the galactic disc. this happens because of density difference in the galaxy ( "the spiral arms"). funfact: there is a statistical anomaly according to which big meteor impacts happen every 35 million years on earth ( when the solarsystem breaks the galactic disc, because there is the most "material").

I've always had to laugh at how idiots who do the graphics for space videos always draw objects traveling between the planets in an arc like they have guidance systems. Even rockets to planets don't travel in arcs like that, they travel in a straight line from where they leave orbit until they get to where they're going then enter orbit. I quess they think we're all stupid. Courses for rockets are straight lines from where they start to where the planet will be when it gets there, them correcting to enter orbit and they don't use their engines the entire way unless a course correction is needed. Basically, why was the rock path at 2:59 drawn in a curve towards earth? It's speed was way too fast for gravity to change it that far away. Come on people use common sense when choosing people to illustrate your videos.
