  Nusensei also 'disproved' instinctive archery buy having someone that was shooting 'instinctive' to shoot at a target in complete darkness. He had only a tiny LED light to shoot at and the rest of the room so dark there was no way to see anything else at all. They measured the resulting groups compared to the usual accuracy this person had and they were much wider (i.e. less accurate). Would love to see if Lars can put multiple arrows through a keyhole with only a light behind the keyhole and otherwise complete darkness. It's a bit of arguing semantics. I.e. what is the definition of 'instinctive' when we apply it to archery? I think we do mean that we've learned to shoot reflexively well enough that it's as if it was instinctive. We don't always get to choose what meanings english words get in different contexts but I agree that 'instinctive' is a very poorly chosen word for what we are trying to describe. Humans have been doing archery for sooooo long that there certainly may be an adaptation to it in large portions of our population. Just like we've tended to be taller in recent centuries it seems likely that we've adapted to the use of a bow and arrow.

  I think people get stuck on the word "instinctive". Instinctive archery is using your vision, practice and experience to shoot arrows, like throwing a ball, there is no conscious aiming. If you aim using gap, split vision, string walking then that is aiming and not "Instinctive". Use what works for you.
