Archery World Record: Most arrows through a keyhole

Спорт

Most difficult archery record ever made!
The purpose of my officially controlled record attempt, was to try make a record that could be compared to the heroic shots of historical super archers?
The record attempt was filmed with four cameras from different sides and the keyhole from the side in slow motion so you can see the arrow going into the keyhole (there is a small clip at the end of the video) but it looks coolest from the front Camera!!
Everyone can try it themselves, it just takes a keyhole so it's easy to try.
Bow: Şimşek Sipahi
Arrows: Carbon arrows without feathers (otherwise they won't go all the way through the keyhole)
I have been training for a long time to shoot through keyholes
so much so that up to the record attempt I dreamed of keyholes.
I just watched Dude Perfect’s Archery World record and it got me super excited!
I love it when archery gets attention and new world record really helps with that!
So big shoutout to Dude Perfect and James Jean and congratulations on the world record.

    @NickC_222 Жыл бұрын

    Lars never fails to completely blow my mind. I can't even imagine attaining half this level of precision in anything I do, even the things I'm best at. The really impressive part about this is the physics. If you've ever seen an arrow fly in slow motion then you know the arrow bends while in flight. The tip and the tail of the arrow both rotate slightly around the arrow's long axis and follow a spiral trajectory through the air. The keyhole is barely large enough for the arrow to pass through at all, so this shot is so ridiculously precise that the shooter must have to compensate for that bend in the arrow, right? If you drew a line along the arrow's trajectory, the tip of the arrow is not flying straight down that line, it's spiraling around it, all the way down the length of that line. With that in mind, how is this level of precision even physically possible? It just... I can't even comprehend the level of skill Lars SO consistently hits. The bow is truly an extension of his arm at this point.

    No, he only shot 7 through because he wants others to train in archery to compete against. By not over breaking the record, the record is open to inspire others to try. Realistically he could have probably gone 20 in a row or more with his skill level. 7 to another sportsman seems doable whereas 20, 30, 40 is daunting and removes the spirit of competition from the record. This man is so skilled at the sport he had a Robin Hood movie that was dedicated to his discovery of right handed Saracen quick archery. He spent a few hours training Jamie Fox and Taron Egerton how to do the technique, they both picked it up very quickly. He can teach people off the street to shoot a dime in the air in an hour. This man is so skilled, yet would rather share his love of the sport with others.

    The best archer that ever lived. If reincarnation is real, he certainly has the spirit of ancient archers within.

    For mostly any other archer, this would be the greatest achievement of their entire career. For Lars, this is at best low- to mid-tier among all of the archery feats he's already accomplished.

    Imagine coming to this guys house as a robber and before you reach the door, a goddamn arrow flys into you through the keyhole.

    Pretty incredible to think about a race like the mongols most of whose warriors were all extremely skilled archers. Putting an enormous amount of time into perfecting it from an early age.
