I'm Julie, the author of the fantasy romance novels, A Curse in Ash and A Prophecy in Ash (books 1&2 of the In Ash series). If you are into polyamorous triads with magic, witches, Fae, high stakes and hot sex, you'll want to read these. Links for where to buy them at Julie Zee.com/books, my local indie Main Point Books, or any online retailer.
On this channel I share my love of books and my journey of writing, querying, and publishing my novels. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter and follow me on other accounts by visiting JulieZee.com/links.
Join my productivity sprints every Sunday night at 8pm EST right here on my channel.
And yes, I'm still hooked on horrible SyFy movies (Sharknado and Piranahconda), gummibears, and hot chocolate. They fuel me!

Congratulations! I love you collection…. They are all beautiful!!!
Thank you! I've added a bunch since this video and can't wait to show those off, too. :)
I am giving Leigh Bardugo another chance. I didn't like Six Of Crows duology and my reaction would be the opposite with the Grishaverse Trilogy. 🤷🏽♂️
I did the same with my cauldron its in the bin in tiny broken pieces x
That thins was IMPOSSIBLE. Maybe soaking it in water would have helped? But there was no way I could get it to work.
I'm currently reading this book and it's really disturbing. I had to skip the abuse scenes. They were way too graphic then it was necessary. You could have faded to black and you would lose anything of the narrative. I worry that actual pedophiles will read that book and enjoy it. It is also very problematic that the abuse is framed by many characters as a love story and any characters who didn't were framed as being the villains.
When I read it, that was what I took to be the point. When you see it through their eyes it's ALMOST like it's a healthy thing they both need, but from outside you're reminded how disturbing it is. It never leaves your mind that it's wrong, but Wavy needs someone in her corner so badly, and she grew up so fast, that you ALMOST start to root for her happiness however she may find it. There's no doubt it's a controversial, triggers, and deeply disturbing book.
I used to watch your channel back in 2019 or so and just found you again! Instant sub
Awww. Welcome back! I'm a little slower with content now since I'm writing/working.etc, but I'm here creating content as I can. Happy to have you here again. :)

I still haven’t even finished the Grisha verse lol 😂
Just made my first pango purchase. Thanks Julie!
Just packed them up and will get them out to the post office today! :)
@@PagesandPens thank you! 😊
@@PagesandPens just got my beautiful package! Thank you Julie!
Gorgeous collection. That agate portal was awesome and my fave :)
I think that was my favorite of my crystals at the time. I've gotten a few statement pieces since then and I'm in LOVE with them. :) Thanks for watching and commenting.
I have one take away from the Julie-less stream which is: is there another way for a penis to be, other than naked? I mean in order to see a penis, it must be unclothed, right? I'm devastated that I couldn't join live and ask Amber and Jess this question directly because every time they would talk about a "naked penis" I was shouting my question at the screen.
hahaha I'm upset I missed the conversation myself...but it was interesting to watch back, that's for sure.
I see each rejection as one step closer to the long awaited "yes."
Absolutely! That's the right approach for sure.
What kind of glue do you used?
I use Fabri-Tech :)
I consider rejections as a victory. Anyone who has truly gotten to this point (written a book, edited it to death, and had the courage to send their child into the world) is a minority of people who are “going to write a book. Guys do the work and go for it. You never know what can happen. Dune (one of the most successful science fiction books of all time) was rejected and finally published by and editor at a car repair book company, Chilton, who could see what it was). Best of luck to all in our writing endeavors.
I agree. I see so many people stop before the query stage, but for me, it's another milestone accomplishment in my writing career. With three books published, I'm still nervous querying the next one, but I'm so excited for it, too. It's important to remember it's not personal if you get a rejection and that all authors experience it. Thanks for the watch and thoughtful comment.
Came by this evening since I missed Sunday's sprint! 761 on chapter 96. Always love the energy on these streams!
I have to use notebook papaer and a three ring binder/dividers I can go back abd interject pages. If i write where there is space, it is crazy making. I also write old school wkth pen and lpaper. Iam old school..i also prefer the pen and paper because it taps into a parr of the brain a keyboard doesnt. It works a different part of the brain and i process it differently.
I absolutely understand. I always print out my first draft and do edits on paper so I get the other part of my brain working, too. But, for me, it's faster and easier to type out the first draft. I LOVE how many different methods there are for successful writing.
Just bought this one i made the rose detective agency last that was laser cut like this one what i am going to when do this one i am going to use decal fixer this way i can stick the books down but move them if i need to
Omg, that's a GORGEOUS collection! I loved all the specimens! So hard to choose the one...but I would say the very first clear quartz crystal is my favorite))). I just get enough of clear quartz, lol
I remember thinking it was so boring when I was younger, and now I have such an appreciation for it. I LOVE how protective and clear that tower is. I couldn't pick a favorite...and my collection has grown more than I care to admit since filming this. lol
I hope y'all are having a nice Sunday evening off and can't wait to hear how the little town tour went. Also I want one of Amber's handmade purses, when is her Etsy shop going to launch?? This replay got me moving forward in edits, thank you!
Allegedly was the only one I was sad to see leave. I think you are actually who enabled me on that one, it remains my favorite of Tiffany D. Jackson. Also, so much YA lol, I have so few of mine left.
Beautiful collection!
thank you!!
All the YA :D
Ok, I feel better now. I, too, am trashing the cauldron. My bendy pieces won’t stay AT ALL and I broke one trying to figure it out. 🤣 Came to the internets to make sure I wasn’t missing something.
haha I watched so many people make them and none of them struggled. I glued my fingers together so many times and then just gave up. honestly, it was so large it didn't make sense anyway. So, you're in good company just scrapping it.🙂
Not related to this video, but my UnPlugged book box with all 3 In Ash arrived today! They are gorgeous and I can’t wait to find space next to the original covers to see all the jewel tones together! I am so proud of you and enjoyed the trilogy immensely and will reread from my new versions soon!
Oh my goodness! Mine is still in transit and I cannot wait to see the special item in person!! I am so glad they reached you safe and sound and that you love them. I ADORE the way book 3 turned out. That is my fave color change by far. Thank you for supporting my career.💜
I discovered Moxie from emmmabooks.
I remember liking Sarah Dessen books in high school, but in my adult life - no. Just no. There are better things I can spend my time reading!
Yeah and I didn't find her until I was an adult, so she just never really worked for me. I wanted her to..but alas, she did not.
Awh I remember the winners curse trilogy I remember really liking it - I wonder what I would think about it now😂
I love a good reread vlog! Do it.
This is such a nice one to add to your small growing collection, Julie! Have a great Sunday and week! Barbara
Thank you! I am having fun with them, though I've slowed making them since learning how to crochet. ...that's a whole other time sucking hobby haha
I love how different this one is compared to the others. 🧚♂
Favourite one yet
Mine too! I slowed down-aka I haven't made any others since this one, but I do like making them.
Thank you for sharing you letters with all of us. I'm not at the phase of querying yet, but definitely nervous about it, as I know it's tough out there, but worth a shot. Keep persevering beautiful.
You are oh so welcome. It's for sure a process that takes some getting used to, but it's not all bad. And honestly, when you realize how not personal a lot of the passes are, it's a lot easier to take. Good luck when you do get to that phase. I know you'll crush it.
These look like so much fun to make!
They really are. :)
