Reacting to my First Unhaul of 2018

Ойын-сауық

I started my youtube channel in 2016, so just a few years in, let's see which impulse purchase books area already leaving my personal library in this unhaul revisit. Am I going to repurchase any of them??

Yeah... I'm not surprised you didn't regret any of those. Especially the phantom of the opera one. I remember the conversations we had about that one lol.

I am having so much fun with it! I'm glad you enjoy them, because they're not going anywhere for a while.

I'm SO glad! I wanted to so badly, but sadly, it just wasn't what I wanted it to be.

Speaking of Jack Canfield, I enjoyed some of the Chicken Soup For The Soul books. I did not finish 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People.

I kept it for longer than I should have. I knew I had no interest in reading it.

I haven't read these books yet, and I don't know how much you're into witchy stuff right now, but you could try The Orphan Witch, The Lost Witch, or What Became of Magic. Those are modern-day witchy books as far as I know, and they aren't romances. Neither is The Witches of Moonshine Manor, a book I personally did enjoy and had a fun time with. My shelves are a combo of unread abs liked/ loved books, too, and it feels great. I also put books I don't like it DNF'ed in an unhaul box. There are two exceptions. Both annotated books, and one of them isn't actually mine, I'm just keeping it for my sister and never asked if I could get rid of it (Nevernight).

I love having shelves that I'm either very excited to read or that I loved. I get actual joy from unhauling and making sure what I do keep is special to me. I will absolutely look into those books, though! I'm always down for witchy reads, though I have been gravitating to more adult witchy. :)

@@PagesandPens The books I mentioned are adult books as far as I know. The Witches of Moonshine Manor has a bunch of older women as lead characters and what I get from the summaries of the other books is that the leads are adult, but I don't know the specific age. The Orphan Witch is someone either returning or going to a place she knows from or heard of before. And 3 of the 4 books are written by the same author. Just a question: what makes you think I"m into YA or would recommend it? I get you can't remember every comment, but I did say in your previous video's comment section I don't really like it and you reacted to it. And please, don't think this is meant to be rude or that I'm angry. I'm genuinely just curious and also on the autism spectrum.

I also got rid of... nearly all of the Owlcrate books I received. Many of them felt too young for me, or I felt like I just didn't need to own a copy. These days, I love getting books from my library first if I can, and then deciding if I like it enough to own it.

I think that's a great idea! I've been shopping more at my local indie who has mostly used books. It's so much nicer! Also, having a Pango account with a balance, I just sell books and then use that money to get used copies of things I want. :) The goal is to not have to unhaul much.

Ok, but I remember watching this when it came out? That was 2018?! Yikes! Also, I had Owlcrate Jr for a year for my daughter, and I think we got rid of them all and didn’t even get much for them at Half Price. That had helped me to restrain from Illumicrate and such- I regularly see videos with titles like, “Are FairyLoot books even good?” I do use Book of the Month, but only because 1) I can pick which book I want and 2) if I don’t want any, I can skip.

I agree. I have book of the month, though I often skip, but the subscription boxes just don't work for me. I get the special editions when I'm interested, otherwise, I pass.

I had a family member say that they would have never spent/wasted money on buying me a book if they knew I was going to get rid of it later. But I didn't like it and kept it for years due to guilt.

I've kept gifted books for the same reason, but all my friends and family understand that I have over 650 books and no room to keep ones I don't like. In my case it was more self imposed. They never got angry with me.

Off topic but what kind of brace are you wearing on your hand? Does it stabilize the thumb well? I have psoriatic arthritis that really affects my thumb joints (where the thumb attaches to the hand) and am trying to find a brace that better stabilizes it.

I do have a few wrist braces, but unfortunately, that's just medical take holding a bandage to where a broken glass jar sliced my hand open. I don't have any that work SUPER well, just random drug store versions. But the wrapping with the medical tape may just work for short stints?
