It’s so good to see you again! I watched you religiously in the late teens. Nothing personal, I’m just not a writer or into the writing process, so I haven’t watched your channel for a while. But this was recommended to me and I literally yelled, “Julie!” Re-subbed and so happy to see your face in my feed again ❤

Nothing personal at all! I am hoping to make more content that's book and life related. I have this series, a book haul, a crystal collection, and I'll be doing some recent reads and what not soon. Glad to have you back!

Lololol I love how when you’re explaining why most of the time it’s just “I don’t care” 😂😂

I saw some of my favorites or at least liked books. They are That Summer, Unexpected Everything. I like One Day by David Nicholls too. 😊

The classic Pages and Pens intro. It has such a vibe :D I tend to feel the same. I haven't gotten rid of many books and once rebaught an entire series for childhood nostalgia and because I wanted to read the final book but other stuff I've gotten rid of I never really regretted And I feel the YA comment. It didn't even appeal to me when I was a teen/in the target demographic (in as far as it existed back then since in Dutch we have youth books and then just litfic and horror/thriller/mystery. Yeah, not a lot of orginal Dutch genrefiction for adults except for translated stuff and I can read English and German so why would I go for translations if I can read originals?). Almost all of the ones I tried were a letdown. I think I have about 4 English ones laying around and several German ones (which feels substantially different than English ones in regards to storytelling and writing to me. And I think the English ones are mostly from non US authors). It did not take me long to learn to just mostly ignore what booktube said with a couple of exceptions. I don't really look back at the old videos, but I think it's still in there. But my newbie tag is insanely outdated. I thought I wouldn't read horror novels and romance. Guess what happened? I now like romance at times, it helped me through a burn out, and I have found out I like some dark horror elements in fantasy books. I'm not surprised though. I've gone through two burn outs and a depression since I started and comatosed my channel and in seven years a lot can happen.

It's amazing how life changes, and how reading tastes grow and evolve. I think that's a healthy thing, though. Glad we both found what we like, and continue to allow ourselves the grace the change. :)

Yeah, I'm going to be keeping it. It's not the ORIGINAL one. I have looked at since filming this and it's the reprinting from 96 with a forward from King, but it is a first edition of that printing. So, who knows.

Early booktube really loved YA contemporary and it was just Meh at best.
