Doesn't the head unit do most of this? I can set SUB and speaker crossovers on my cheap $60 pioneer head unit. And if you did a speaker/sub amp combo each of those have their own crossovers as well right? DSPs don't seem worth it to me.

I have a Kicker Comp R 12in in a sealed box with a 1k watt pioneer amp and it’s plenty. But for $30 a pop, maybe it could use some friends back there in the trunk! 🤔

I dont know why so many people hate on Skar. Its good for what it is. @2:18 Most of us are not competing. Most of us dont have sundown money. I recently thought I killed my JP8 so I got an NVX2700. I am pretty sure the EVL15 wont last with this amp. My idea was to blow it and get a Sundown Zv2 cuz I thought it would match perfectly to that amp. Now I am finding out I can't get that sub. I finally have the money for the sub I want and now I cant get it, and now what's available will require more power than the amp I just got to use the full excursion. Unless I am mistaken. Just a testament to any people who dont have the money. The EVL line is the budget sweet spot for skar. The SDR line is junk. My EVL has been pounding since 2018 on a jp8. Its not liking the new amp though. Most speakers are over rated and match the amps accordingly Anyways Parker, you know what amp I got. I really wanted a zv2. What do you think will fully flex at 2500 watts real watts. I know sundown underrates. The skar was rated for 1500 but I am sure 1000 was what it was really rated for. I assume the zv2 rated at 1500 will max out at 2500. Shame all amps and subs cant be rated the same way so we dont have to guess.

You should test the new Trinity E series subwoofers. Budget but high Efficiency ratings for 12s and 15s.

Man I need advise on my sundown x10 v3 d2 about a box and what amp.i want too use a 3000k md taramps.the box I'm have trouble with as well as the amp settings

Wierd several angles mic picks uo nothing but rattles. DB definitely gets down.
I have a build with 9 12’s on 20,000 watts. 3 cube per sub tuned to 27 hz. I started with DB 3012. It was great. Swapped to xv3. No other change. Didn’t even tune the amp different. The sundown are SO much better. They are worth $300 more a sub. The DB has no excursion compared to the sundown. So at 32hz and up basically no noticeable difference. On lows, under 30 hz the sundown is much better. The sundown plays 18 hz. The DB was just motor noise at 22hz.
Does this power rating mean per coil? Or in total?

@@ParkerTheBasshead bro don't sweat it...when I heard you say you were 130-135 I felt that...we are all built different. Because like you I do it all solo builds etc I stuggle with the big ones. Dropped a 105lb sub on my foot the other day, causing the top plate to shift. I have dropped big neo motors accidentally. The worst sub I have ever dealt with was the Resillent Sounds Team 18. Fitting some of those into a tiny sedan is a back breaker.

Can you run a comparison between the Ds18 15" hooligan and the American Bass XFL 15" or godfather whichever is more comparable? I have a skar zvx 15" on a T1500 1bdcp RF amp @ 1ohm and its breaking my Subaru... but I want more. I want to go deaf and blind. Compare those subs please thankyou.

Loud is different than "hit" 10s definitely "hit" harder than 12s but 12s are able to carry low end bass longer and lower hz than 10s. Personally I like the punch of a 10 and my MTX6000s can carry as well as they hit, old but still sound awesome after all the torture I've put them through. If I buy new subs it will most definitely be MTX or Ground Zero hands down

I usually go with the kicker Comp C's in this price range as I prefer their punchy bass never heard these though
That happened twice to my jbls. I was so happy with those subs. But that fact that they crapped out gets me upset. Im thinking the 50$skars on ebay would do me well... Jut need em to last me atleast a few years ill be good. I dont need my windows to rattle like most folks. Just that extra kick being that im in a tight budget. When i saw that smoke thebfirst time i got so scared i ripped my box out and was nearly about to throw water on em. Glad i didnt i would have destroyed my box
I just installed to day my skar evl 10 and man it's loud I live it it sounds great it's wired with skar 1500 watt amp skat wiring and a skar line output converter it's works amazing sound quality it goes perfect for my bose system in my cadilcac cts sport wagon and it such a good sub although it's really easy to wire stuff cadilac cts are hard to find stuff on and no really has stuff on my male of car so it took a bit but 10 out of 10 great amazing sub worth the 500 bucks I spent on the whole kit

I had 2 these crappy gothic series wanted to mess around with cheap stuff i had a cab audio 1600.1 put it all in a 04 neon sounded like one would think 90$ per sub 250 amp but still worth the price.
I have a single 12in comp R running at 1ohm at 500 t0 550 rms and it rocks good price at 100 bucks each mine is in a sealed basic box I built and it really sounds great when I was younger I had a vw bug with 4 15" kicker solobarics and a precision power 2300 when they were top of the line and it shook the shit out of that bug they stole the car out of the driveway to steal all the stereo stuff out of it as it was built in the car that was the last big set up I had
Hey I'm running almost identical set up 1200.1 d skar on bamf122 that box doesn't do it any justice. I'm running with 2.3cu ft box with round port tuned at 29hz and I am so impressed. I bought 2 of them to replace 2 sdr 12d4's and so impressed I sent one back and just am now focusing on getting the most from this sub already only one I'm banging around 115 . Actually considered a 4th 6th or different variation of enclosure looking for any suggestions on the matter. Bamf÷ bad ass mutha fuckka. And it is!

I’ve got a kicker cxa800.1 amp paired with 2 12” kicker comps. I want to upgrade the subs for something stronger, should I go with comp vr or comp r. My amp is 800 watts so not sure if going with comp R is the right pairing since they are 500 rms each
Just ordered a 8 inch 2ohm with a nice box for my f150 ...with a kicker 1200 & kenwood deck & eq
I mean these Amps yes hit hard. But I can't stand how slow they are, they respond slower then anything I've Herd in my past
Rms on the subs are only 1200 watts but ok
