    @@gabrielv.4358 the reason a lot of more expensive speakers sound inferior is bc they're made to handle more power in a lot of cases so in order for them to really sound good you need an amp. Some speakers are also made to only play certain frequencies too and sound best paired with a sub. If you want something that's going to sound good with just the headunit alone you want something with a high sensitivity rating.

  • @justingalasso1850

    @@gabrielv.4358 if the expensive speakers sound inferior to these then there's either a problem with your wiring or you may need an amp. A lot of higher end speakers are designed to handle more power and sound much better amped up. Some speakers are only designed to play certain frequencies too and will sound best paired with tweeters and a sub. If you want something that's going to sound good with just a headunit then you want to look at something with a high sensitivity rating.

    But- these are a mid bass component at best. They should have been tested in their operating range- crossed over at 150/ up and used in a proper setting. EVERY speaker sounds like snot laying flat on a table - especially when not used as intended.

  • @soldjahboy
    @soldjahboyАй бұрын

    Amazing how much difference it made even just propping them up half way in the box like that... not the clearest high end but for $10 each that's hard to beat if you're doing a super budget build. I'm surprised at how well they actually did. For the price I'd say that's a win. Having said that, they kinda crapped it after eating just 40w of power and started bottoming out and rattling, so you'd need a LOT of them on low power :D

Its probably just the old man side of me here, but if response was listed 50-20k probably shoulda been crossed at 150 or 200 and put in either a door or door/small enc/- then large, and tested THAT way til smoke. Then paired with a similar quality tweet (also crossed) and repeat entire thing with your better quality setup there. A nissan stanza won't perform like a crown vic or a 1 ton truck or semi tractor. Definitely not a 500 200 or even 100 watt speaker, but would be interesting to know if this would be a place holder driver while someone built a component door or even wall

    They sound pretty decent in the mids, where they are designed to play. get them playing 90Hz-2500Hz with a tweeter playing the highs and a sub playing the lows and they will sound way better.
