There are so many brands out there these days. Most youtube guys just go after the same stuff. I love that you bring all brands to your channel..

I thought when you put a sub in free air, it only can take half of the advertised rms rating. In this case, 600 watts half of that 1200 watts. Therefore in an enclosure that is specifically made for that subwoofer, it should take it’s advertised rms rating.

Open air testing doesn't offer back pressure, the pressure needed to hold the woofer back when pushing. Your statement is 100% correct.

Ya and depending on the design of the soft parts, some can take more or less power in free air. So the 50% rms is just a general guideline. The more the sub moves out the gap and frequency there of, the hotter the coil gets. Its a shitty way of testing subs as its not on an even playing field.

Careful tugging on voice coil wires ppl. Got a couple slices in my hand cause they weren’t all the way loose but unwound so I grabbed and pulled and they’re so thin it can break skin like razor wire

That would be cool if you could review a pops subwoofer. They’ve been around since the 80s. Look up pops speakers Chicago. They were all handmade in Chicago when old man pops was still alive. His son runs it now.

I'm sure if you got another one and ran it on the 40 Hertz torture test it would probably do fine I think you messed it up by jamming 7,500 watts through it for the DB test

DS18 EXL XX12d4 best subs I've ever owned. Had them over a year and they're still amazing. Might be worth it to feature it some day.

I've had 2 of them for about a year. About to get 2 more. Run them all on a smart 3k at 1 ohm. I think 750 rms will be plenty.

I got a pair of the H Yanka BSF 12's in a 3.5 CuFt ported box tuned to 35 HTZ. I'm pushing them with a D4S JP8 and they sound very good. Ive put them through hell and back and they still keep banging 😂

I wanted to add a cheap 15 to my home theater set-up. Glad i went with the Skar SDR 15 for 106.

These test are not stupid and i run a test tone when tuning my system and need to know if it can handle the rms rating or not. Love my avatar 12 btw parker thanks for that review.

It started smoking after the last db test. I'm sure running 6-7k through a 1200 rms sub didn't have any effect on the sub before you did that torture test 🤦🏼

I agree with that. When you bottom out the former, depending on how it damaged the end of the former, it can cause an open coil, or other issues to the wire at the end of the former.

I was thinking the same thing and next subwoofer he really needs to try a Resilient Sounds subwoofer. Parker has never once tested a Resilient Sounds subwoofer and for the money it's the best subwoofer around. I have 2 18" Resilient Sounds Platinum subwoofers and there very loud. They have a 3" aluminum flatwound 8 layer voice coil. I'm Ryan Bass For Life.

I might be one I liked those numbers and mine is a garage car stereo setup

I don't ever buy cheap subs, even when i couldn't afford good subs i still bought good subs. In my experience they just last longer. Although I understand the appeal of the hyanka because it's dirt cheap. At least you squeezed out a 142, but it took a 6000 watt burp. Great video and keep up the good content.

Look u am a fan of hyanka and their potential. The 15in I believe is 800rms but for 130 bucks it sounds great and gets down low. I am in contact with the company and have been giving them advise and changes to their subwoofers. Their new subwoofer the bsc 12 I did a video on and a few rms test and it went through 5 minutes. I have also been working with certain vega. Try their new VMAXX 15 I just did a video on that and it was great. (Don’t bottom out so badly)

Well, I think some brands like boss and this style sub that you tested (cheaper) they have their place for sq low power and when grouped you can have a nice sounding sq build, but if you want to move a lot of air, you know as well as I do these will not last even in groups or multiple subs setup

To be fair the 2005 power acoustik motor and fbx series were some beast!

You should see if you can get a good recone, like psi or something for it, and see what it can do.

Can you test out more Dayton audio subs ? Like the( HE )series or the Ultimax

Love the videos you should compare this too others like what you think it compares too another sub

Is it safe to run a 8 inch and 12 inch subwoofer together on 1 channel? Both 2 ohms equal to 1300 rms and the amp max 1280 rms @ 1 ohms RED1800.5

D4S amps are great! I have a JP23 V2 on 2 Rockford Fosgate P3 15s and it sounds great! Maybe for those subs you should get a JP43, 63 or even a 83!

@traviselliottsr.4492 I actually have been looking at either 2 deaf bonce aak 4000.1 amps strapped, or 2 jp23 v2 amps strapped. Obviously the jp amps would be cheaper and no where near as big in size so maybe they would be better. I just dont know if 1 jp 23 per sub will be enough. It would be pushing the amps to their maximum. And I dont have the money for jp 43's. Lol. Maybe should go with the deaf bonce aak 4k's. Right at $1000 for 2 of them but that's 8k rms of true Korean amp power. That would definitely make these zv6 18s slam for sure.

Do a Planet Audio review. For one hundred, they sell a 15 incher. I recently put a PA 10" on 1500 watts and it slaps like a SOB. I had the sub in my shop for a year or so on low watts before putting the power to it though so it was broken it real nice.

On normal everyday music I've beat on 2 of their 12s for a while and haven't had any issues. About 750 rms on each.

Maybe you should do the rms test before the dB test. You bottoming out the coils causes damage to the epoxy and windings on the dB test.

I have a skar amp rp1500.1 it has blew 3 lower grade subs with it turned down and the speakers was used I want a budget friendly sub thinking about a skar 12 but I would love to see what you would recommend or anyone else here the amp seems like it wants a big sub

Those WLLDSE subs are awesome they take way more than RMS power. I have the 10" version and it still has a 3" voice coil. The H Yanka sub is no good in my opinion. better off with the WLLDSE sub.

Nice subwoofer for the price but too bad it blew on 800rms watts. Parker get another one and don't test it with over 7000rms watts and don't bottom it first and just test 800rms watts on a 40hz test tone for 4 minutes and see if it does the same thing. I'm very curious and I think other people would love to see that. Than if it makes it 800rms try 1200rms watts.

It didn't blow on 800 watts. It was toast before that. it just so happens it failed at 800 watts.

For the money, that’s a decent sub if it sounds good. I don’t think subs are rated for free air so if it takes the rms power in a proper enclosure, then it is well engineered. Any sub that takes way more power than rated without affecting its performance makes me wonder if there was much engineering at all. On the other hand, for KZread purposes, its fun seeing some smoke

I think HiYanka is a hit or miss but from my experience I bought 2 12s and they do just fine and boxing was actually super well, but ive seen youtubers get them in super messed up boxing and what not.

It would work with mine. It's only 125 amps.
