I've been looking for a 2J swap on here for a while now. Glad to have found one finally. I'm gonna watch the whole series now.
Glad to have you! My swap series is still not complete but you’ll find out why as you go haha
Transmission is it from 350z?
Yes
Im just wondering what size bolt did you use for the pressure plate to the Collin’s flywheel ?
I honestly can’t remember since it’s been so long but I’m pretty sure all the bolts came with the Collins adapter kit, so I dont remember the size unfortunately my friend
@@JacobRosproy ohh ok thank you !
this is a 2JZ-GE NAT build right? if so my question is, was there a difference in port for the turbo manifold for the stock turbos to ge head?
At this point it’s no longer an NAT, it’s an NA block but has a GTE VVT-I cylinder head so for simplicity’s sake it’s a GTE. In order to run the twin turbos it HAD to be a GTE cylinder head, because the ports and bolt pattern for the exhaust side are very different from the NA cylinder head.
@@JacobRosproy ya very interesting, I was thinking how he get the turbo manifold on a ge head lol. I’m looking to do the same build but I guess ill have to fabricate something with the stock manifold
@@Waynefisfor to tell you the truth, I wouldn’t even try. You will save more time and money in the long run buying a turbo manifold and single turbo designed for the na head. If you get around to watching my newer videos I explain how the twin turbo setup is really bad in terms of cost vs performance. To do the TT setup you will have to get a gte ecu and run that with all 100% stock injectors, intake manifold, coils, throttle body, etc. and settle for the stock 320hp after all your hard work. It’s too expensive to run the turbo sensors on an aftermarket ecu with upgraded parts anywhere on the engine. I switched over to the GTE head just to run twin turbos (because of the bolt pattern and porting difference) only to figure out that it would cost me $5k for an ecu capable of controlling all those inputs and outputs. So my advice is give up on the twin turbos and just buy single turbo parts for your NA-T build, cuz even if you make a custom manifold you’re still only going to be able to get a stock TT 2jz (in terms of performance) unless you’re willing to spend $10k+ on an ECU and all the supporting electronics and mods to run them. It’s a complicated ordeal but I recommend you think about it a LOT before going ahead with any of it.
@@Waynefisfor or conversely, if you still want to go about using the twins and make a manifold, the only cost friendly solution there really is to remove all the sensors and run the pair as a true twin (which basically forces them to function as a single turbo). You will lose all the cool features of the OEM twin turbo system but it won’t cost you an arm and a leg that way.
The spacing of the hot wheels wall makes my brain itchy. lol. good content 👍
jacob your subscribers want you and your gf to get matching honda groms
swap the whole head over
Which model of civic is it, EX,LX ?
Lx base model
Retarded vibes are the best
Hey Jacob, can I ask a quick question? Does the flywheel fit snug around the pilot adapter? I'm asking because I'm missing mne and I don't know which brand my flywheel is. I can order a pilot bushing from a few companies, but one of them is just smaller than the inner diameter of the flywheel. The flywheel itself doesn't exactly center on the crank. Thanks!
If I remember correctly, the pilot bushing is the same outer diameter as the actual crankshaft where the flywheel makes contact with it. If you stop the video at 7:39 you can see that the bushing and the little protruding ring on the crankshaft are roughly the same size. If you’re able to get ahold of a dial or digital caliper, you can use that to measure the inner diameter of the flywheel and find a bushing that matches. It should be a little snug but not incredibly tight or hard to take on and off.
Yea I had measured the ID. It's larger than the adapter one manufacturer offers. I hurt up Collins with an email, hoping their adapter works. Hopefully it does because I want to get this car back on the road! Thanks for your help, man. @@JacobRosproy
Hi I’m from Thailand I have a question? I can change intake manifold 1jzvvti to custom intake by use factory ecu ???
I’m not sure. It depends on what parts and sensors you change
What transmission are you using for the swap?
Cd009
The amount of overspray you blasted your z with is insane lol. kudos to you for doing this swap.
It doesn’t have any texture from overspray really so I think it was far enough away or too cold to stick, however my clearcoat started peeling on the door a couple months after this
No doubt your Z caught some of that overspray. I've done this before with my car behind what I was painting lol....
If I did have any it was extremely minimal because I haven’t felt any texture, in fact I probably should have just primed the car since my clear coat is peeling now 😆
Just started watching and subbed man, keep up the work, I can’t wait for more vids to come out!
Thanks for the sub! Love the pfp
I just did this this morning and I put a small piece of wood on each side and hit it with a hammer in sequence.
Yeah I guess I could have done that too
Love the valve cover i'm building a 2jz ge att the moment snd would love to buy one from you
I’ll update you when it’s done!
Bruh the bug sounds lol
cant wait to gap u in my miata when this project is finished
U can gap me right now
Good to see you posting a updated makes me want to put all my videos out
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
A turbo is a turbo your vission your unique art🖤
Ngl I thought it was weird that you were doing the stock twins. The single turbo setup will be sick tho 🐌
BIG TURBOOOOO LETSSS GOOOO
Look forward to the finished project!
Dang bro long time no see
need to make a double layered heat shield for the fuel lines or you could have issues .
hi jacob, when will we see an update my friend
now
It was fun to watch ..reminded of me and my friends when we used to work on our cars
Is the clear cover of the fog lights glass or plastic??
Not sure but I’ll check when I get a chance.
Don’t forget brake fluid sensor 😅
Is that the stock trans
Yes it is.
your girlfriend is so lucky
Who’s that
your jaw is so chiseled 😍😍😍😍❤❤❤
🤔
Stop saying motors! They're called engines! It's not the same thing...
Motors
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Why did you end up doing twins, i fill like my stock jdm twins have the worst lag😂 not hating just wondering why u went that route
Regretting it currently
@@JacobRosproy yeah i would too, i just did a 6266 not tuned yet only on 4ibs and it’s so much better
Yooo bro where is the next viddd?/
Coming soon
What is you ring gap for ring 1 and 2 in inches thank you and fo you gap the oil rings
It’s been so long I don’t remember unfortunately. Wish I could be of more help!
is it louder than stock?
Yes, it’s not noisy but it’s definitely louder
Really great video! I spent a long time looking for the perfect video/series on a step by step 2jz 350z swap. You're taking tutorials to whole new level. Thank you!
Thank you for watching! I genuinely appreciate the compliment!
Post an update
:)
Subbed asf, looking forward to seeing this move
What size are the two small bolts for the puller?
This is the best 350z - 2JZ swap series on KZread, undoubtedly!
Aww thanks 🙏
Is your 2jz front sump or rear sump?
Front sump!
I havent came across this channel in a minute and damn bro progressed so much. Gonna sound sick
Thanks a bunch for coming back to watch!
