    Use large strikes the vary with small strikes and movements but most importantly with a good enemy engage their katana

    With a katana against a armoured enemy come in close draw their sword down then use the full of a katana to open the chinks in their armour Only this will lead to a sound defeat of your enemy in other words grow a brain and use it to fight with sword fighting in Kyushu Ryu Ninjutsu is about sparring with the katana and you engage the katana

    This proves nothing for a samurai as I have a bit of samurai nihonjin anscestory would be in full armour

    But remember in battle Vikings unless ulfdenar berserker would be wearing lots of armour but go for the chinks in the armour

    The way to sword fight and I'm a descendant of Rollo gradon the first vikingar king of Normans is to engage your enemies sword come around it like water filling all gaps follow it then when a part of the enemies anatomy shows a quick vulnerability make your cuts then finish them once they have been staggered.its very simple follow basic physics such as force equals mass plus acceleration follow the circle the square and the triangle shapes feel the enemies sword space and attack

    Wouldn't a real longsword be too heavy to be deflected with a katana when it's a full force swing?

  • @StonesSticksBones
    @StonesSticksBonesКүн бұрын

    No, longswords are not heavy, they're a little heavier on average than a katana (though there's plenty of overlap in weight), though katana tend to be more blade heavy

    I was about to ask if he is familiar with inwardly curved blades, any length, but then I saw a thumbnail with a Japanese sickle in the side bar. 🤭🥰 Also very interesting how he would start using a weapon he is not familiar with based upon the skills and training he has with other bladed weapon designs.

    I tell my students that there are only two types of samurai: two legged and one legged. The one legged ones did not move their rear leg when using nagashi to dodge the down swing of the katana.

    I don't think you could use a Rapier the way he's asking, but something a bit thicker like an Epee with a Triangle or diamond shaped cross section would be able to.

    I have watched so many videos of this teacher, and his reflexes seem to be incredible. Observe how he maintains an excellent sense of distance. At times, some of these techniques seemed impossible, but upon rewatch, I realized- he's just that good. It just takes a few minutes to realize how much precision he has put into his footwork.

    “It’s scary. I’d rather not fight the rapier.” A truly strong person honestly acknowledges the strength of the other person. Or it may be his military strategy to catch the opponent off guard.

    How would a real samurai fight against a rapier? They probably wouldn't try to win unscathed. Perhaps they would intentionally get stabbed by the rapier to stop their opponent from moving and then cut them down.

    Several times Seki Sensei draws his blade and imiedietly have it in perfect horizontal position parallell to the floor. It can clearly be seen several times where the blade is perectly alligned with the floor (and wall mount behind). I do not know much about sword movement, but this looks like loong training aiming for perfection. Style and form only? I do not know, but control is not wrong and sometimes a lot matters on a detail. Also, I think one needs both strenght and technique to gain that level of control of such a long blade. I would guess the smallest extra turn of hand, wrist and arm would result in a small angle of the blade resulting in the far end of the blade being slightly more from the intended position. Please forgive my ignorance.

    This might seem like a weird idea, but I’d love to see how Seki-Sensei would react to the various lightsabers, like Darth Maul’s saberstaff or a saberpike like the Red Guard use
