Joshua Gammon

Solo Camping, Bushcraft, Survival, Shelter, BackCountry Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, Fishing.

This channel is about exploring the Canadian outdoors. Join me in the back country while I go on camping and ATV trips in all four seasons. I'll sleep in a tent, a hammock , under a tarp, or in the shelter I build. I'm not trying to be an expert but just showing you the realities of being out in the woods in the different environments we have here in Canada. At the end of the day, I just enjoy spending time outdoors doing whatever I can.

Hope you enjoy.

Cheers,

My usual reality check - he’s got all this modern gear except for the fire stick. He should carry two bic lighters. Save cold hands and a lot of discomfort getting kindling to light immediately. I’ve been camping like that and believe me, me butane is best.

This is probably my favorite shelter I’ve seen so far. I would build the side walls up the rest of the way to prevent rain and snow blowing in, and I think you could build the far wall up a few logs more, I know you need some opening there as that’s the “chimney” essentially, but I think you could do 3 or 4 logs higher. And some kind of door so animals don’t get in

I don’t understand most of you campers. You pack a bunch of stuff, hike a ways out, takes time to set up camp for one night. I understand you may have work or whatever next day but do it when you can spend 2-3 days. Relax & enjoy all your hard work!!!

The tarp is a good idea, it extended the dry area so you can sit or walk around without inside the cabin all the time, consider extend the tarp with a roof in future?

Good stuff Josh! You left the noise and clamor of everyday life to get out into the bush and...experience noise and clamor...and bugs. You don't complain but enjoy your time camping which always makes your videos enjoyable and fun to watch. Keep those cameras rolling JG Wilderness Productions Inc.

That extended nap paid off for the late night concert of ribbets and honkers lol! Real nice looking spot by the pond. We're back from an 8 day RV'ing trip to Yosemite & Sequoia National Parks (pics on the gram). Got some weekend upgrades coming to the truck & camper, then going back out for a quick weekend trip soon afterwards. Always good to see you getting out there and trying different camping styles (whether it's shelters or hammocks, all cool stuff!), and I'll be looking for the next one! Cheers!
