Looked like a good time in the “creepy” woods haha. Even better when you got spooked by the deer. Very nice spot by the small brook. Good looking meals. As someone who really wants to start real camping I have to ask do you just randomly pick a spot and go in to the woods or are these all places on your owned property?
@JoshuaGammon
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Sama. Here in Canada we have a lot of crown or public lands you can just go camping on. Just take out your garbage and you're good to go. My Bushcraft camps are on land that is approved by the person managing it. But no I don't have land to go back that far.
Most jurisdictions have rules about camp siting with respect to water - specifically how much setback you should allow. Typically around 100m if memory serves. One reason is to reduce the chance of polluting the water source (soap, waste etc.) and another is so that you don't disrupt the local wildlifes' access to their drinking source. Pretty good bet those deer were pissed you were camping beside their water fountain ;)
