Hot tenting is a great experience. If you never did it before do it close to home and do some research. It's not hard but it's the little things if it's your first time.

Hey Lisa, It's easy when you have a lot of experience doing it. But it's not hard to start. Just take your time and start close to home and test your skills. You can definitely get there with practice and time. It's like anything else. Ask questions and do some research.

Is this the same river that you have visited before - it does look familiar I think this is the place where you made the fireplace on a table like structure looked real good too. Mother Nature certainly provides - hot brekkie looked good Joshua - travel well.

Great video as always, sure love that stove and how it packs down so small ! food looked good as always but I have a bit of a bone to pick with you.... you used pre-made patties.... kraft cheese and basic buns... @@JoshuaGammon Weather has been a bit on the cold side. We actually do get snow It mainly snows in the mountains in our state. But the lower valleys can get a bit of snow, but it melts off in a couple days. In the mountains it will stay until May or July depending on snow year. Keep the videos coming buddy. I enjoy them. Nice setup. I have the OT tent as well, and a nomad stove. I see you using the alpine set - i was just goung to use a gsi kettle. I have the alpine set but use it with my whisperlite stove. I think your setup makes more sense. Kudos for packing all that in a ruck im too old and fat for that lol ! I use a sled. Great video enjoyed watching it thankyou !

Hey gritty kitty. This is the first time taking this tent out. I've tested it at home a few times first. It's the onertigris iron wall. The stove is beautiful. At night I just lay there watching it go until I fall asleep. The food is always great.👍. Hope you're having a good weekend.

Good setup, Josh! How do you like the OneTigris tent? I have a canvas hot tent, but it weighs 20 lbs! I’ve been thinking about picking up a lightweight hot tent like the OneTigris for winter backpacking trips. I’ve heard some mixed opinions on them.

This was the first campout with it other then playing with it at home, but so far i'm really liking it. Very light weight and easy to pack as you can see in the video. The quality seem good to me and i'm sure it will last. I'll put it to the test over time.

New sub haven't seen alot of your videos yet but I will over time-when I have it, cheeseburgers look great but I like my salad on the side

Hey dude. I miss the ATV to. The water and ice was so bad on the trails lately I didn't want to take it out. Looks like from the ATV club is should be frozen over now. The next trip should be an ATV Campout. That's the plan anyways. J and I are talking about it. Stay turned for that.

Hey Mike. I seen the video but I don't have anything bad I can personal say about onetigris. I haven't had that experience with them. The stove from Pomoly is amazing! So packable and durable. Love to lay and watch the fire at night before going to sleep. Hope your having a good one Mike.

I liked the fact that you show us a lot bbn of time actually in the tent There are a few youtubers who show almost no time in the tent. It is important to see what useful space the various tents have. Can you say where you are? Canada or US?

Love your vids! I learn so much from them. Want to do a winter camp with my 12 year old son. Probably going to do a couple of backyard rounds for practice. Since I learned so much from you I wanted to hopefully pass on a suggestive comment to you. Never use a knife to cut anything you’re cooking on a cast-iron pan. Ouch!

If winter camping is your first time with you son, you right a few back yard camps will help decide on what you are going to take with you before you go out there, and when you do, don't go far from the vehicle just cause. It's going to be difference once your away. Good tip about cutting on cast iron. I'm guilty as charged. LOL. Cheers.

@@JoshuaGammon Every now and then, usually after every trip, boil some salt water for a while. Spill it out and scrub it with a copper pad and then wipe it down with either vegetable or olive oil. Wrap it in a plastic bag and that son of a bitch will last you forever and pick up amazing flavors! Happy camping!

Hey Douglas, Just the knife. Black bears and coyotes are the only thing here to worry about and I've never had a problem with them. I keep the food away from camp and with a fire going they never come around. When I meet them on the trail they just take off.

Your love the hot tent camping. I didn't weight my pack but I don't think it was more then 40lbs. I only take 1L of water because I melt snow when I'm out there. Hope that helps

I put a little snow around the edge so the wind doesn't blow right in but I like to have a little air flow into the tent for fresh air and to let some heat out as it can get really hot in there. You don't want to start sweating then have to go outside.

Do you ever camp more than 2 days in the snow??

Yes. I've camped in a tipi tent for two months in yellowknife canada Jan & Feb in -50C. Good times. I've also done other multi week trips during other parts of the season. That was for work. The stuff I post on YT is for a good time not a hard time, and if I can't show a few tips or treat to other that's great. Also you folks give lots of great tips back.

Wouldn't be warmer if you pile snow on bottom ot tent so no drafts of cold air goes inside, not enough layers to keep warm; some people are cold when sleeping(me) some people get hot sleeping (sister) she and her daughter sleep all winter with AC going and her daughter goes out in blizzard in tank tops

Yes keeps snow up to the bottom keeps the cold air out but I sleep warm. And I still like the fresh air coming in on me while I enjoy the heat from the stove. This winter camping is all personal preference really.

I prefer boiled river water than snow

Snow water is fresh. Just a few sticks and needles in it.
